Did any of you have to use an aftermarket seatpost clamp to get proper post retention? Even with friction paste and torquing it much harder than I'd like to, my post tends to twist unexpectedly and develops a creak after a couple rides

Seems like, at least on my frame, ID of the seat tube where it clamps the post could stand to be just slightly smaller

large frame, just got it in the November batch, oneup 210 dropper

That happened to me on the first ride or 2. I thought the dropper was sagging but it was actually the post sliding into the frame. The torque spec is 5-7nm for that clamp. Seems like a lot. I still havent tightened mine to 5nm but its holding now.

Anybody coming from an SB150?? The 150 is more nimble than the numbers suggest and I have heard some similar descriptions of the Sentinel V2. Would love to hear some comparisons if people have them..

I don't have SB150 ride knowledge, but I did get a couple of months in on the RAAW Madonna V2 before riding the new Sentinel. The Sentinel is much more nimble than the Madonna. Definitely gives up some in the pure downhill chunk, but is much more playful. So far I really like the compromise between playful and smashable. Hope that helps.

Had a 150 after the sentinel V1. Before the sentinel an SB5.5 w/ avalanche tuned F&R. Loved that bike. Expected to love the 150. Went from L sentinel to L 150.

150 felt more nimble, but only a bit. It felt tall, almost top heavy. IMO the STA is too steep to use - racing and pedaling down a fireroad w/ seat up felt like I was gonna fall over the bars - unnerved me the first time i did it.

Didn't love suspension on 150. Could be the 2020 x2 (older) which i couldn't get along with. Either mushy or caught square edges.

Pedaling performance was about equal on sentinel/150 (5.5 was amazingly good).

Traction under braking is soo much better on the sentinel. Thats a big deal to me as i typically brake late (and never learn... ).

Going to venture a bet that front wheel grip is up a bit more now on the sentinel w/ added 5mm on stays. Plus revised leverage is gonna be more supportive than 150 and allow a broader usable range for grip & pop (you can get cascade for 150 but rate doesn't look as good as SentV2)

So not V2 but should help as they really only did some refining tweaks from v1-V2. Wish they could avoid granny colors and stick w/ basics, carbon & white. Thats only place i can fault the new sentinel. F- loam gold is sooo hideous. [emoji2961]

For you guys wanting to know about the bomber CR and clearance... I have a custom tuned CR Bomber from Avy on my bike and it’s at 65mm. It clears no problem at full bottom (tested without coil) and does not touch the down tube or the back. NOTE THIS IS ON A XXL frame. It makes the rear slightly above 150 travel and I like it more than the air. .I also have a fox 38 set at 170mm and it’s amazing. Craig will have you measure before you order to make sure the shock will fit. I can take pics or measure my shock if anyone needs.

This is great news! I have a 2021 DHX2 coil that I added the stroke reducers to (65mm down to 62.5mm). Easy process that doesn't involve sending back to Fox. I probably should have tested the 65 first and used the extra travel!

I also have the 170 Fox 38 on the front. Overall love the setup and think it rides much better than the Float X2 that it came with.

I've got a Thomson clamp waiting for the frame...just because its a bit of a classic and I really like it...and it looks like a bit wider than the one the frame comes with. Not many on the market for the frame seatpost diameter. All I need is for the frame to actually arrive now...lol...delay after delay!

Was on my 2nd ride on the new bike yesterday and the seat post twist a lot. Super annoying.

What's your weight and what spring rate are you running?

Currently have a Ripmo AF but want a lighter bike and one that is better for rowdy terrain. Is the Sentinel a good option?
I rode both and went with a Sentinel. Not a big difference, but Sentinel did slightly better in the rough. I give a the Ripmo the win in the climbing department. Both are awesome bikes. I don't think the weight would be a meaningful difference.

My only thought with the weight is my Ripmo weighs a smidge over 36lbs and the Sentinel XT large SUPPOSEDLY weighs 31lbs and change. 5lbs is pretty significant!

Has anybody tested a 216x63 and 275 rear wheel?

Tried on my V1 and leverage was wack. Know it works w/ V1 and cascade link.

If this works on the new one would be oppai!
