Took the vaya out for some singletrack the other day. Pretty smooth stuff for the most part, except for one gnarly root section. The Straggler definitely felt quicker in the twisty stuff, but they vaya is no slouch and has a really great feel. I have yet to do any real road riding on it though.

What pressures do people run the Knards at on different surfaces: sealed roads; gravel; singletrack? I think I need to pay more attention to this.
Run on-road enough pressure to get about 15% tire drop/sag. Run a little less for gravel. For singletrack and CX I run enough pressure up front to bottom the rim out if I forcefully throw all my weight on it, and about 5psi more out back.

This calculator works pretty well. Use the second calculator with your weight and tire width, figure to go a little lower than it'll recommend with 37mm tires for road. For gravel I'll normally put in 80-85% body weight + full bike weight to get a little more sag. Singletrack is all by feel.

Agree with jcaino. I don't run Knards, but I do have 43mm tires. Normally, I'm at 30-40psi, depending on how chunky the trail is. Never ride it on-road specifically, but if I did, it would probably be around 60. I weigh ~160lbs.
This is what I run as well (with Clement X'Splor MSO 40mm tires and 250lbs human+bike weight). I like ~40 for gravel. A little less if it's really rocky.

Soooo, I have been running singlespeed this week. Is it me or is it a strange design you can only use on bolt, on the driveside, to prevent the axle coming forward? When coming home today from work I pulled the other side loose, luckily I had some tool with me (I use a pitlock axle).
Any tips to remedy a slipping axle on singlespeed?

I've been running my Straggler SS without any axle slippage. I have a pitlock on another bike and you may not be getting it tight enough. I find using the security key thingy a bit of a pain, but on vertical dropout bikes that most people use them on it doesn't need to be crazy tight like it would on a horizontal dropout bike.

Do you have access to a standard Shimano QR? They clamp down pretty tight so you'll be able to quickly trouble shoot things.

Hmm I think my dirtbike has a QR, could steal that one until I can get that Hurdy Gurdy (20 days or more delivery time in my usual online shop (Europe)).

Indeed my pitlock wasn't as tight as I could turn it, but that was on purpose as the manual clearly says not to tighten it too hard! So I was afraid to break something.

Maybe I should just buy an extra QR axle, when I look at the pictures of the Hurdy Gurdy I'm not sure if it will fit because of my rack and that thing that is already on my axle to pull my children's carriage with.

Thanks Kit,
Exactly what I was looking for to see how does a 52cm Straggler looks like?
Would you mind measuring for me the your BB center-to-saddle height(top) please?

My previous Crosscheck was also 52 which is almost identical to Straggler and my BBC-to-SD is 73cm...I just wanna figure out how much seatpost extended if I go 1 size smaller.
Thanks again,

Bb height is a little different on straggler. I really want an ogre and am thinking of parting with this one if you want it. I'll measure for you tomorrow.
Thanks Kit,
Not the BB height but I'm interested to know your BBcenter-to-Saddle top. Just wanna know how much seat post extension there would be.
The 55cm ETT is kind on a long side me though so going to smaller frame is what Im considering.

Will send you PM though,

Keep in mind, that is totally a fit dimension based on a lot of factors including pedal type, shoe height, leg length, and many more factors that I don't even know. I dialed this bike in by riding for half a mile, stopping and raising or lower saddle. It is all in the feel for me. Fortunately, I have it at just enough to clamp on to my bike stand, which seems to be the perfect height for me.
