Looks good. I hope to be riding mine soon. Got the Ridewrap install done. Still waiting not the 210mm dropper. Will cut down bars and install today maybe. Need to decide if I keep the GX cassette or get a X01. I like the lighter unsprung weight of the X01 so likely will.

Finally finished putting mine together and rode it yesterday at the UCSC trails. Didn't get a chance to ride much rough stuff on it. Just natural, elevator shaft trails. Some thoughts:

1. Climbing geo sucks. SA is too steep as expected. I guess it works if you have really short femurs? But yeah, I gotta figure out a solution to this. Also my calves/shins sometimes rub the seatstays. Those are really oddly wise. Pedal efficiency is fine though
2. Descending performance is amazing. It somehow feels very long and stable in steep, fast stuff. But it feels really maneuverable and short when I'm trying to turn. It's weird. Maybe I just have the bars lower than I normally run them? But either way I was really impressed. It feels significantly shorter than my S6 SJ-Evo (almost identical build, just a tad lighter), but is almost an inch longer? Go figure. If I didn't already have a DH bike I'd probably just get a dual crown and dual ply wheelset to throw on this for resort days.

Parts spec:
XTR drivetrain
Push shock
Zeb: 170mm
Saint brakes, 220mm hope rotors
Flat pedals
Reserve 30 wheels
Enve bars/stem

Hey, anyone running a large spire at 5'9" or 176cm or so? Ones come up GX build. Can't really test ride. But I wanted longer reach than the medium as that would make it my shortest reached bike.
Cheers
I'm 5'11 and felt my Sentinel (large) was on the small side. The Spire however is a more modern and feels like a good size large, and thus feels great fit wise. The steep seat tube keeps the top tube shorter. If you use it for a bit of everything it might feel big but if you're using it mostly for dh use you might find it just right if you like longer bikes. I also like to look at the front center measures when making those decisions because that helps tell how the bike feels while standing in terms of your relationship to the front wheel.

Cheers. I've ordered it anyway now.
Some say no way too large. But I was going to buy a norco and they put me smack bang in the middle of large with 485 reach. I rode a large patrol in the weekend and I wouldn't want any shorter. Top tubes also shorter on the large spire that my current bike.
Will only be a bike for rough fast terrain. I do have other bikes for other types of rides.

The new Patrol fits much smaller than the Spire, imo, even though they look similar on paper. I had it before a Sentinel and now Spire. I'm sure it will work for you. When all is said and done it is about what you feel comfortable on and how you like your bike set up. The short top tubes of modern bikes gives more flexibility to upsize. I think you'll be surprised at how the Spire doesn't ride like its numbers. Due to forest closures lately I've ridden my Spire on easier trails and have been amazed that a 170mm bike can still be fun in such situations.

I have a B Rad strap holding two cartridges and the nozzle. The nozzle is in a little canvas case I had laying around. I have the wolf tooth bar end tools that has the plug kit and other assorted nuggets. That and the bottle is all I need to 1-2 hours depending on heat.
Longer rides gets a pack with water, a tube and such.

generally speaking any issues to speak of on the CARBON spire so far? seem to be a few QC things with the alloy frame only (like filing the flip chip etc)....is there anything to be worried about with it?

also any cable rattle from the carbon one? have heard alot of cable rattle stories on here and elsewhere from the alloy one.....

im tempted upgrade to it from my 2022 alloy sentinel as the carbon frame weighs less than my alloy sentinel, and by all accounts reading in here the spire climbs just as well and pretty much does everything else better

Carbon Spire has internal cable routing tubes, no rattle.
I have seen a few accounts of the BB shells de-bonding, don't recall if it was Spire in articular but they are all share the same construction. But seems to be a very small issue numbers wise.

For a loss of about 3lbs, it's a good upgrade! (y)

Transition had small huckleberry carbon frames in stock for the past few weeks (gone now), if they were mediums I would have jumped on it.
