What do you guys thing about the polygon siskiu t8? i was thinking about the canyon spectral 125 and the santa cruz 5010 but they are both too expensive. anyone have any recommendations for sub 3000 or better sub 2500 full sus bikes with 130-150 mm of travel on the fork i am riding in illinois which is flat as hell so thats why i dont need that much travel. so is the polygon good?

Yes, it's a good bike and a great deal right now. I had a D7 and loved it. A couple friends ride T8s and another on a T7. All are very happy. I have ridden them both it and my only complaint is the weight. It's a little on the portly side but you will get used to it and be stronger for it.

My wife has a T8, I've never ridden it in anger because it's setup for her with crazy high rise bars etc... The wheels/tires/tubes that come stock are total boat anchors, but at the current price, with another ~$600 for an alloy Hunt wheel set and some more XC friendly tires setup tubeless, you would shave several pounds off its rather portly starting weight and have a really capable bike.

Depending on what size frame you need there are some belting offers out there right now. If you happen to be looking for an XL or an even an XXL you can grab a carbon YT Izzo for $2000, or Fezzari have some pretty sweet deals going on at the moment too.

I stripped the pivot bolt on mine in the spring, maybe 200 miles on it. It had a nasty creak, which prompted me to remove the pivot bolt. The lower pivot bearings feel like crap when rotated by hand, not sure how that's possible in 200 miles.

It's been sitting while I ride my 2005 Prophet with the original single pivot bearing.

I purchased the wrong pivot bolt in August. They sent me the right one without charging me again, but didn't know the bolt size. I think it's an M12x1.25 based on my caliper measurements, but they couldn't tell me. So I need to take the new pivot bolt to the hardware store to confirm the size, purchase a thread chaser, and hope for the best. Rode fine the 10 times I rode it. Been sitting almost a year.

I agree the tires, tubes, wheel are boat anchors. I think it was 36lbs new. Dropped to 32 or 33lbs with tubeless minions.

We bought our son the T7, replaced the fork with a rhythm 34 we had lying around and scored a great deal on a DPS. I asked him if hed like his minions off his old bike but he wants to keep the oe tires but at least he is tubeless.

For your terrain I'd go for lower weight over longer travel. An Intense 951 XC is 2800 online from Costco. Full refund anytime now or later.

I'd be happy with a hardtail with good rear compliance.
DV9 - Ibis Cycles Inc. 2625. Review on Hardtail Party YouTube.
Nothing to add here except that I love my Sniper T, which is the same frame as the 951 XC but different components. 2800 sounds like a steal and if I had known at the time I probably would have gotten the 951 XC and saved $1800 for choice upgrades.
