Thanks all for the great responses and perspectives. I just got the Spire and like it a lot, so not looking for an alternative- I'm looking for something that's less travel, more pedaly and nimble as an alternatrive bike for days I'm on longer, less technical rides than are ideal for the Spire.

Just installed the cascade long stroke link so I can share a vivid coil with another 185x55 bike.

Did you follow cascades spring chart and if so, what sag are you getting? I’m not getting 20% and wonder if I should care. Also have a sprindex coming so I can test a wider range.

I tried to, they suggested a 400 lb spring but I had to go down to 300 to get 35% sag. need to gain some weight ha. I only have 1 ride with the 300 lb spring but it rips!

My enduroized druid felt great on the rough trails of darrington. I am still so impressed a “short travel” bike is so capable on rough trails.
I bet it did, what trails did you ride? I bet it's perfect for Out of the Blue and Lower Showcase Showdown.

I have the same brake and suspension setup along with a cascade link and just took it up to Whistler. I can't believe how well it handled the black tech trails there. I think some of the harder double blacks could've been too much for it, but I'm only good enough for the lower tier anyways regardless of what I'm riding.

We raced skyline, jackpot, and logger. It didn’t feel overwhelmed by anything on those trails.

I have not taken mine into a proper bike park. It would be interesting to see how much it can handle, but having a dh bike for park days means I never approach the limit of the bike.

for those who have the cascade link on their druid v2 and running coil, how much higher of a spring rate did you go? I'm roughly 150lbs with a 400lb spring on a push 11.6.

I have a vivid coil with cascade link. I'm running a 650lb spring at 200lbs kitted up, just like the chart recommends. I haven't even measured sag, it feels perfect so I haven't felt the need.

I also followed Cascades spring chart and running a 650lb spring on my Push SV8. I weigh 205 kitted up and it feels spot on. Don’t really have a good way to measure sag due to the limited shock tunnel clearance.

I did run a 575lb spring that I had laying around and had a ton of pedal strikes, so likely too soft.

Anyone running the vivid air on their druid? I got the long stroke link and am running a vivid coil but I'm only 150# and am at a 300lb spring to get around 35% sag.
It absolutely rips with the coil just curious if people have and like the vivid air

Also, when I've been testing springs, with the shock removed, it feels like the linkage doesn't move that smoothly. I'll probably put the stock link back to test the difference but any tips for getting it to run smoothly?

Thanks

I have a Push 11/6 with stock link. Also have a RS SDU with WPS piston kit. That works well to.

For those running the Cascade Link on their Druid V2, did you have your shock tuned for the Cascade specifically, are you running a shock tuned for the Druid's 'natural' characteristics or something else?

Running an 11-6 that was tuned for stock druid v2. Added a cascade link and only increased the spring rate. I've only done one ride but too soon to form an opinion.

I have the vivid air and cascade normal link and love it
Feel free to ask any thoughts

I've had my V1 Druid since 2021. It was a frame up build that kept the original Fox DPX2. This year I swapped it out for a custom tuned DVO Topaz Prime. World of difference! The bike feels so much more composed and supported on the trails. Wish I did this sooner.

This is interesting! I have a v1 and my dpx2 is feeling a bit knackered (that could be me, though). Can you share the custom tune used? Do you think the tune would work with the cascade link for the v1? Much appreciated!

I have the CC link. I've had it since it came out.

I'm not sure of the exact tune used by DVO, but they could probably look it up for you. I could share my order number with you if you DM me. Basically, I told them how I wanted it to perform, and they pretty much nailed it. I'm around 170 pounds kitted up so it is based on that.

The DPX2 kinda sucked. It worked out for heavier aggressive riders but wasn’t great. The best shock for that bike for a while was the Ohlins. If your dvo is custom for you I bet it’s great.
