The 8-Bit Chainbreaker + Utility Knife Multi-Tool and the 8-Bit Tire Lever + Rim Dent Remover Multi-Tool join the 8-Bit PackPliers to complete the system.

The three neatly nest together using magnets and clever machining for compact storage. The 8-Bit Chainbreaker + Utility Knife Multi-Tool has three functions. It has a chain breaker on one end and a retractable utility blade on the other.

The chain tool is operated by an included 3mm hex L key that doubles as a tire plug inserter. A machined slot fits the L key and converts the entire multi-tool into a tire plug inserter, with the forked end of the L key extending outward.

The handles of this multi-tool slide open to provide storage for tire plug inserts, a valve core, and a spare mini utility blade.

The 8-Bit Tire Lever + Rim Dent Remover Multi-Tool has two functions. A slender, ergonomic plastic tire lever is on one end opposite of a machined aluminum rim dent remover. The tire lever will work with all tubed and tubeless tires, while the rim dent remover is compatible with all metal rims.

The 8-Bit System takes its name from the 8-Bit Pack Pliers, as the two new multi-tools have the same silhouette and nest neatly together. The 8-Bit Pack Pliers Multi-Tool has 17 functions. On one end of the multi-tool, an 8mm swivel head serves as a driver for the bits that are stored inside: flat head #3.5 and phillips #2 screwdriver bits; 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, and 6mm hex; and T10 and T25 Torx-compatible bits.

A spoke wrench and valve core wrench are stored on the back and a rasp is on the inside of the upper handle for clearing sealant from valve stems. On the other end of the multi-tool, pliers for master link installation/removal and tightening/loosening of valve stem nuts.

These tools were designed, engineered, and machined at Wolf Tooth in Minnesota from 7075-T6 aluminum. These new multi-tools can be purchased individually or as a complete 8-Bit Kit One set that includes all three.
  • 8-Bit Kit One: $139.95 USD
  • 8-Bit Pack Pliers: $69.95
  • 8-Bit Chainbreaker + Utility Knife: $69.95
  • 8-Bit Tire Lever + Rim Dent Remover: $19.95
The 8-Bit System is now available on WolfToothComponents.com and with all bike shops that stock Wolf Tooth products.

Probably a good value when you are trying to remove a derailleur hangar using a cheaper tool that has less leverage and is of lesser quality and snaps in your hand resulting in having to walk your bike out of the woods and call a friend to pick you up to then drive you to where you parked your car.

Ask me how I know…

And I thought my Topeak was a bit expensive:

But that's a legitimate mini-ratchet with decent leverage and an extender bar for more leverage if necessary. Add in a cheap master link pliers and you are at 1/2 the price and about the same size in your pack:

If you already have the existing 8 bit pliers I assume nothing was changed with them and the other new tools will still "combine" with them?
