I guess it depends what you want.
I, like you, like a large diameter front tire. The Trail King 2.4 is one amazing tire. The tallest I've ridden, huge volume and great grip. But it's not the easiest tire to pedal. In fact far from it.
For height AND fast rolling I haven't found anything that comes even close to the WTB Vigiilante - but it needs to be the light, fast rolling version for the combination I'm talking about.
It's almost too good to be true: just a hair smaller than the TK and the Goma 2.4 but as I mentioned grips incredibly and rolls so easily. Great weight for such a big tire.
The Minion DHF 2.3, Rock Razor, High Roller II and Magic Mary I've all measured and found to be in the 705-707 mm range. The Mavic Quest 2.4 is 708 mm.
Of those the Rock Razor rolls the best but can be slippery. The Minion is widely acclaimed for good reason but doesn't roll as well as the Rock Razor or Ardent. The Quest is actually a nice middle ground between rolling resistance and grip. I was using it until I switched to the Ardent 2.2

I'm about to mount another vigilante on the rear (I have one on the front as well). I just measured the width knob to knob and it's only 56 or 57mm (2.2 to 2.244") I guess that's one reason it rolls fairly fast. Also about to pick up a trail King and X King 2.4 for cheap and give those a try soon. Trial and error, hopefully not too much error.

What's the tallest tire I can have in the rear for my 2015 Stumpjumper FSR Carbon Expert 650b? I had the WTB Breakout 2.5 but it's slightly rubbing the side of my chain stay. Any recommendations on a slightly more narrow tire that's still tall so it lifts my bike a little bit to help with my low BB?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply Jon,

I believe mine is the tough fast rolling version. My measurements might not be super accurate, so they could actually be closer to what you measured. I was considering a 2.4 trail King on the front and a 2.4 X-King on the rear. What do you think? Lately I've just been wanting to try out as many different combinations as I can. Also want to try a magic Mary on the front and rock razor rear, and minion DHF 2.5 front / ardent 2.4 rear. Any experience with these combos? I recently went from a 29er to a 27.5 and looking for a little more stability/rollover from the 27.5.
I run a dhf 2.3 front and ardent 2.4 rear on dt Swiss ex471 26mm internal rims. I like the combo for summer dry conditions but prefer dhr2 rear for winter
