Anyone with height at around 5'9, do you feel like the 150mm dropper from the medium frame is long enough?
I have 150mm dropper stock on my trail bike and it feels much better after I change it to 180mm. I just put a deposit on a X01 build ranger and I can customize it a bit before it got shipped.
Also, have anyone compare the fox and rockshox suspension on this bike and which one they prefer?
5.9 riding a medium frame and I don't want the large. The medium is long enough for me. I'll probably need 30mm stem with large. Also on 125mm dropper. Not sure what the dropper length is important. 180mm OneUp will easily fit there for me.

My lifetime warranty lasted about two weeks, that has to be a record. Now I'm thinking about putting down some cash for all the bearings my v2 frame may need in the future because I really plan to keep this bike as my main for years to come.

I think that Revel Bikes does not matter that it has gone bankrupt and closed its operations, but it must maintain the guarantees it offered. It's the least that Revel Bikes should do with those of us who buy Revel bikes.

Sadly not the case, but frame manufacturers who have closed in the past ATTEMPT to find someone who will take on that commitment.

It said warranty support will end but the company is looking for a partner to take remaining stock and continuing to offer product support.

I have a Ranger V2 with 82 miles on it. The frame is a warranty of my V1. Over the past 2-3 rides the bike has developed a creak mostly noted with pedaling. Light pedaling I don't hear/feel but even moderate will reproduce. I can bring it out when I grab the downtube just in front of BB and the front part of chainstay. So it feels like it's coming from one of the lower two pivots (#1 and #4). I loosened the pivots and retorqued. I didn't ride yet after that but it's still noisy.

Suggestions on next steps? Can I assume the bearings are fine (at only 82 miles)? Maybe regrease the pivots? The V1 has a bad pivot that was warrantied. Any knowledge of bad pivots on the V2?

It sounds like maybe they never corrected the pivot #4 problem? I had my #4 pivot warrantied after the first couple of rides, and it's been trouble-free for almost 10k miles. Mine is a V1.

Revel has redone pivot #4.. It is very different than the other four pivots. But yeah, pivot 4 again. Wonder if the pivot is dry and needs a regrease.

10K miles is impressive!

Let's get this thread going with some new sharing -- and who doesn't love talking about the shock or fork they have chosen to "mod" their bike?

Currently running an Ohlins TTX1 in the back, which has been fantastic so far. They just released an m2 version that swaps the puck IFP for a true bladder and I am going to get that ordered up for mine ASAP, which should make it the theoretical most awesome shock for this bike? Twin tube damping, just enough reservoir that it won't get in the way, and now a bladder should make it more sensitive. I will admit to still wanting to give both a Manitou Mara inline or a Cane Creek Coil IL a try....

Up front I have run a DVO Sapphire, RS Pike C2.1, and now Fox 34SL (all at 130mm). This newest Fox damper seems made for my weight and riding (145lbs, large frame Ranger) just absolutely glued to the ground, which was something I could never dial in with the previous forks. Noisy on the big hits, but I find that the effect is kind of fun! The fork is also ridiculously light compared to the others. Still want to try a Manitou Mattoc Pro/Expert, Ohlins RXF34... will it never end?

Finally, double fidloc water bottles work so well in this frame. Front is a 600ml "special" size made for YT (Thirstmaster 4000) only available through their website, bottom one is the 750ml compact.

I’ll chime in. I’ve been loving my Ranger but have since added a Yeti ASR. They are obviously different bikes but also a lot of overlap in terms of travel, etc. I’ve been thinking about changing the fork on my Ranger (still running the original SID Ultimate 120mm). I love how the bike rides so I’m cautious about changing it but thinking about a 130 RS Pike or other. I know it’s been talked about before but any experience for those who have changed? Thanks!

Go bigger on the Ranger! 130mm will slacken the HTA a little and the 35mm Pike was a very robust fork that allowed me to plow through terrain that slimmer forks would rather pick a line through. What rear shock are you running? Get any SID or DPS off ASAP imo, I rebuild suspension as a full-time job and those are the bottom of the barrel inline choices. Finding the right shock will make a much bigger difference in how the bike rides than a fork change will.
After all is done you will have a pure XC bike in the Yeti and much more of a trail bike in the Ranger. If you like the Yeti's geo, then the Ranger will be more comfortable to you than a more aggressive trail bike would be ~ that is one reason I like it a lot, been riding for 25 years and my local trails are the old-school variety and not the groomed park style.

A couple guys I know love the SID 120 on their Ranger and probably would never change it. (Hi, ed.) For me the SID Ultimate fork never felt up to the rear shock, the factory tuned Fox DPS. Probably depends what one wants out of the bike, but I've used two different Pike Ultimate 130s and prefer the bike in that config. You could get the Pike down to 120 if the geo change wasn't to your liking.

would love the hear how they compare, how is the traction of the ASR compared to the ranger going up steep tech? any insight overall would be greatly appreciated. I have the v1 ranger and love it, every time I ride it I amazed at how confident it makes me feel
I would say that the Ranger has more traction going up steep tech due to the suspension design. If I were to summarize the two bikes, although the travel is the same in terms of numbers, it’s utilized very differently. The Ranger is more of a small trail bike and the ASR is obviously a super efficient race bike. Now, I’m kind of splitting hairs because they both can serve either purpose if that makes sense. For me, I’ve noticed that the ASR is absolutely faster on the same trails I always ride. The Ranger would be more confidence inspiring but they are both awesome and more capable than you’d think. Hence why I’m thinking about doing something different with the fork on my Ranger. I like the bike so much that I don’t want to sell it so I’m trying to get a little more separation between the two bikes without compromising what I like so much about the Ranger. Hope this helps!
