Thanks for the responses! I already have 160mm 36 up front which I think is pretty dialled and feels stiff enough for my riding. One question I have is if I went to a coil, do you guys think the stock link would be sufficient for bottom out (assuming HBO / damping provides enough progression in whatever coil shock I go with)?

Not sure. I have a Push 11-6 and a Vosprung Telum on the way. I would be hesitant to buy a generic coil hoping it will work. The Push and Telum are tuned for you and your riding. Yes more expensive but I think results should be better and success more predictable.

Thanks for the responses! Do you think there's enough progression to run a coil without a cascade link? I'm wondering if it would feel too linear but maybe damping / HBO (if I went vivid) would assist in that area.
I guess it depends on your terrain and how hard you ride. I'm 155 geared running a sdu with hbo and it's been fine. Don't feel I need a cascade link. I'm located in socal and ride loose over hard, chunk, drops etc.

I wouldnt go coil without the link.
i have the link and a vivid air built by myself to 185x50.
together They work like a charm but only together.
with out the link i would blow through the travel fairly fast.
if you only ride the bike on flow trails this might work but if the trails get rougher and more steep you would have to increase spring rate to keep from bottoming out which would push your ride height higher and intern would lead to worse geometry and worse of the top feel.

How did you build a Vivid air to 185 x 50? Looks like you can only reduce length with the coil Vivid?

I’m 220lb without gear, on a new to me V2 with a 52.5 Vivid Air. I was holding out for the longer travel link from Cascade but it seems that it’s been delayed, has anyone heard anything?
Damn bro playing with fire, I was under the impression anything but the 50mm stroke could cause some damage to the frame…any hard bottom outs yet? Interference?

The bike previously belonged to a Synthesis rider, if anyone was going to break it I would assume he would have long before I got my hands on it!
So far so good.
It's an S3, and it was implied that clearance issues at this stroke would be experienced on an S1/2, but not S3/4. I WOULD NOT hang my hat on that though, no concrete testing just hearsay.

Huh interesting …too bad I run a s2

6'3 and 200lb rider here on a V2 S4 set at 29er. Trying to increase travel beyond the 50mm stroke is problematic on the SDU air can. Ask me how I know...o_O

Seat stay bridge will absolutely come in contact with the frame on hard G outs and will not be covered under warranty...should you need to claim it.

Interesting. Maybe the Vivid has a slightly different bottom out threshold. How much stroke were you at when you had issues?

Forbidden Druid v2 - Push Elevensix

I installed and have ridden 3x.

Shock feels great. Parking lot feel is unremarkable. Trail wakes it up. This weekend I rode at Jake’s Rocks in Pennsylvania. It’s a mixture of heavy XC with lighter enduro to a touch of DH. No real large drops or boosts but a significant amount of pedaling and a lot of rock ups and downs and opportunities for speed.

This may be the perfect bike for these trails. So nimble. I am shocked how well this bike pedals and how poppy it is. It had me laughing the whole time. Just plain and simple fun. Never hit the limits of the bike. It was fast up and down when needed, composed through the tech. Not sure how a bike pedals so well but then is so plush and composed through rough stuff.

I have a Telum Shock in route to compare. I can’t imagine anything better than the push but maybe it will be just a different approach.

Before buying the Elevensix I asked around and no one has any real in-depth experience in the Druid v2. Someone said their limited time was somewhat disappointing. Not me. It’s fantastic.
Thanks for sharing your feedback. Curious if you will like the Telum more… depending on your thoughts I will pull the trigger on one of the two

Just built up a second hand V2 Druid and trying to get the drivetrain dialled. Running Shimano SLX with a 55mm chainline and I'm getting a lot of noise from the idler. Is it normal for it to have a bit of play on the idler cog or should it be rigid against the frame? I've followed all the setup guides, torqued to 10nm, and wondering if it's the idler wheel itself, or just some spacing is wrong somewhere.

any insight on the best/favorite rock shox tune for vivid coil with cascade link on a V2? I’m 165 suited up, like to ride fast in a mix of flow, steeps, chunk and jumps mostly in Tahoe area . Still safe bet to just go with forbidden rec tune of r85, c26? From my understanding shorter stroke shocks like a stiffer tune, but c26 is the opposite of stiff🤷‍♂️
