I noticed on Transitions website they have some close out Vagrant frames, but, of course they do not have the frame size that I probably need... I am about 5'8" and their site recomends a Med, but, they have smalls in the close out section and I was wondering if I would be taking a huge risk by building a small one up intstead of a med. I want it mostly for DJ/Urban riding so the small might work out, but, I also do like the idea of having a bike that I can ride on the trail as well. I was wondering if some of you could tell me how tall you are and what size is your Vagrant and are you happy with the fit?

Thanks
Keith

a small one would work just fine for DJ/Urban at your height..
I'm 6'3", and I ride a Large, but when hitting DJ's i could easily ride a medium and be a happy camper. My opinion is a little biased, as I prefer to ride a smaller frame. They're generally more fun, and easier to throw around.

As far as having it for pedaling trails.. if you're worried about being cramped in the cockpit, just swap out for a longer stem on those days, or have 2 seatposts, one for DJ's and a kickback post for trails. Problem solved.

Go for the small and do what blender says!

I went from a med Komodo to a small Vagrant, still to be built up.I'm 5'7"

For trails with the med I just had a sore back after an hour. And when you have your body thrown backwards with a setback seatpost on the small you should be comfortable but also with more control in case of any techie stuff.

I have the medium and I am 5'10" ish.....for dj and street stuff, it is too big (then again, i have a 36 van on it). For dj type stuff, definitely go with the small.

or buy mine once i order my ToP.

ps. the huge steerer tube is there sticking out because this is when i just got it.

Hey your picture looks broken  But I might be interested are you selling the whole bike? or just the frame?

one more thing...

My Urban/DJ skills are not the greatest, for fun I usually just bomb a stair well or loading dock, and try to clear things with a big bunny hop. I don't get too fancy :D And I ll make a pass through some DJ's but nothing big. I really just wanted to see who has a small and how well rounded it is for some round town play and some time on the trail as well.

Small Vagrant! Soon pics of mine :D

Since this seems to be the Vagrant sizing thread, would a M or L Vagrant be better for me for singletrack, AM and light freeride? I would guess a M but I dunno. I am 6' tall, but here is the real deal...

Measurements-------------------------------------------
Inseam: 33.5
Trunk: 25.5
Forearm: 12.5
Arm: 24.5
Thigh: 24
Lower Leg: 21.25
Sternal Notch: 59
Total Body Height: 71.75

go medium!

I'm 6'3", and the Large is baaarely small enough. No way in hell I would ride a Large if i was 6'

Thanks Blender, that is what I was thinking. There just happens to be a build Vagrant on Ebay right now, but it is a large.

Ride it and see for yourself fisherdude. It would feel nice for trails, climbing and not techie stuff. Or maybe you are able to pull it right. Even if you are 16, maybe you already grown the most of your final height, maybe not. Nevertheless If I were you, I'd go for the small.

i'm 5' 10" and ride a small with a 60mm stem. I use it for mostly dj/urban/4X but I do a fair amount of pedaling as well. I think a medium would be slightly better for climbing, but I don't think it would be worth the sacrifice in manuverability. If your shorter than 5' 10" I would deffinetly go with a small
