Many people won't go out and ride due to what might be going on outdoors, with youself or personal life. What keeps you form riding, and I am not talking your job or family oblications, but along the lines, I won't go riding if ........(i am sick, child is sick, it is cold, etc)
For me it is water, It rains here allot and thus I have a MTB and a road bike that I train on, so when it rains and for a few days later I won't go out onto a mtb trail, not to mention damaging the trails. But if it is drizzing or it rained earlier and the roads are still moist I won't go out on the road bike and just stay on the trainer. I just don't like being wet, especailly my shoes. This is what sucked about this race season, every race was wet and muddy.
I know for many it is the cold, Which dosen't matter for me, but the heat will slow my enthusiasm, especially when the heat index was hitting 110+ this summer, i really didn't want to go but i would.
