Got my spark a couple of weeks ago, World Cup AXS.

It's a size large, about 24.5lbs w/ xtr pedals and ESI racer's edge grips.

A few observations:

The angle set is pretty cool. super easy to set up in the slack position. I live in Colorado

it came with the fox transfer sl post. You have to unweight the post before it'll release. Fox costumer service verified that this was indeed correct. it's just going to take a little to get used to.

I see that Scott did a press release with Lars Forster's Euro Champ Bike. It's got a chain guide installed. Any idea how to get one of those and how it installs? There's no mount.

On the heavy side for a XC racer...

Probably the chain guide is bolted with the bottom bracket? I've seen some guides mounted like that.

Probably something similar to the Ransom. If there is a pivot right there (looks like it) the ransom guide replaces the nut side of the pivot bolt with a nut that includes the chain guide mount. The pivot bolts looks different size for sure but maybe they made something or another bike had same size bolt and a chain guide version

I asked BikeonScott(their official Instagram account)about the chain guide thing. So far they have not responded. It does say it’s an SL frame which could be slightly different.

Got some bad news. Despite ordering my Spark 900 AXS already July last year, I have received confirmation that my expected delivery in March/April is not happening. They probably won't be able to source it until September most likely as Scott is not receiving any allocations for my market.

They have reserved a 910 under my name instead which I can get right away, but honestly I think I rather wait. In 3-4 months we will probably be seeing MY23 anyway.

Good thing I didn't sell my Genius. :)

What a nice job from Scott. 2023 year models almost being announced and nobody can get 2022 year models 😂😂

They sold out. So does this mean they can't sell new models? It's not like they didn't sell enough. Chain supply, disruptions in shipping and components caused pain and headaches throughout the cycling business. However, due to the pandemic demand for bikes went through the roof and NO bike manufacturer could have predicted this demand.

I wish more people could understand this.

While patiently waiting for my World Cup EVO(which I truly believe will arrive in the next couple of weeks)I am almost daily keeping an ear open to the background gossip going on. I am fairly well connected in the XC racing part of the industry and several Scott sponsored teams in the US have been quietly getting new Sparks in the last month. Trek and Specialized are both gobbling up mom and pop shops and also starting to offer direct to consumer. Apparently Scott USA has a few teams switching to their bikes in the turmoil.
Covid, supply chain, etc have really created a lot of issues and changes in the bike market. I hope we’re back soon to debating the bikes themselves, not their distribution.

I've received my red Spark RC Team and mounted my old non-CL55 Stylo Carbon 170mm cranks to it.

I did the following to change from the original extra wide axle 175mm RF NEXT R cranks:

1. Changed BB from cinch BB92 to regular non-wide DUB BB92.
2. Mounted a M2 Wolf Tooth Camo spider to my old Stylo cranks.
3. Mounted Wolf Tooth Camo SHI12 32T chainring.

Shifts great, I can backpedal, and there's plenty of clearance for crankarms and chainring. Bike comes with what I suspect is a regular CINCH BB92, so I suspect a regular "narrow" RF crank should fit if you are able to find a different offset chainring. The original 143 axle crank is fitted with a bunch of axle spacers to make it work with the longer axle.

Just wanted to make the information available if anyone else is having a hard time finding shorter CL 55 cranks, or just want to reuse an existing crank.

I also added a dropper post with a Wolf Tooth Barcentric remote because ETA of the new triple remote is August according to my LBS. It works, but not great in my opinion. Unable to find great arrangement without compromising access to either dropper or lockout levers.

If anyone has seen the new triple remote available anywhere please let me know.

Highly recommend the Yep Joystick as a dropper remote to pair with the new twinloc. They say it pulls 8 mm of cable, but I run it with a bikeyoke revive that has a spec for 10 mm of cable pull and have no problems; just have to be diligent when cutting the cable to not go too long. Running the remote rather closer to the brake lever works quite well (can use thumb or index finger) and looks much cleaner. No issues getting it mixed up with the lockout.

I don’t know about joystick style remotes from the past, but after trying this one I’ve switched to it for all my bikes. It’s great.
