The bolt is bottomed out in the hole.

?

Forget who but one poster commented on the top trunnion shock bolts not being greased. Can't imagine that lower bolt sees much movement or load compared to the top. It does sit in a nice little swimming pool of the frame though so probably a good idea to grease adequately.

For what it's worth I completely broke my bike down and built it back up. I would say everything was adequately greased with the exception of the main rocker link bolt which was dry. Both of my dropout and one of my seat stay pivots were WAY over torqued. Luckily all the hardware bottoms out on itself which is clever so no risk of damaging anything. Also had a chipped inner race on the outside of the bearing on the main pivot. I concluded this was from somebody trying to force the axle through (likely with the help of a hammer) as the center spacer floats and allows for misalignment. Replacing it was dead simple. Definitely a robust and easy to work on design.
👍 Transition

Transition got in touch with me. I need to grind down Screw/Axle #15 and #20 by 1 mm as they are too long on my bike. I will get a new set of bolts and Bearings in a few weeks. Great service. I can live with that.
Which are screws #15 and #20? Are you looking at a schematic?

Hmmm. Maybe it was in the Pinkbike forum.

The schematic is on their site.under "torque spec"

I don't know for sure but I would wager your bike is way past those initial spec issues they had.

Has anyone had time on the spire and the latest Santa Cruz V2 mega tower that could share their thoughts on ride characteristics ?
I’ve ridden both, but didn’t have the megatower dialed in, as it was a factory demo. Spire has more of a pop/slash/jump playfulness to it, I thought, and the Mega maybe a hair more straight line stability through rough stuff. Either would be great on similar terrain. If I was racing enduro, I’d probably go Mega. Partying in the woods, Spire all the way.

Demo both if you can, or just flip a coin. You won’t be upset either way.

Thanks, have just picked up a Spur for a short travel bike and the Spire/mega tower will be mostly a park/shuttle bike but I do pedal to the park often.

Looks awesome!

What A2C you went with?

I was surprised that with Onyx DC @ 190 it will be 577, whereas Zeb @ 170 585.

I was planning to run DC with the low setting for bike parks, which means I will need to experiment with A2C to dial in the geo.
Running the 190mm air shaft and 48mm offset crowns. Have not measured a2c, but assume it’s pretty close to the 170mm 38 that was on prior. May see if I have a cm or two to drop the lower crowns.

Finally got my grape ape build (purple in size XXL). Went with a super deluxe air (2023 model) out of the gate and have a coil version on order.

34.5 lbs as pictured, not bad with heavy tires and other Enduro type bits.
