I keep waffling between wanting the Spire and the new carbon Patrol. The component spec on the Spire is more to my liking though, and it’s a few hundred dollars less expensive.
I've been loving mixed wheels so much on my last two e bikes that I want to try it on my transition. I have the alloy spire and just bought a carbon patrol frame. I have a Push coil and cascade link on the spire and will set up the patrol the same.

I'm looking forward to checking it out

Nice. I can’t wait to hear what you think of it.

I was told around April, but that will likely be may/June the way the bike industry is at the moment !
Okay fellas, do I order a Huckleberry Spire now at full MSRP or wait until April (or maybe later) to see if there have been any updates and new colors, at which time maybe the Huckleberry will be on sale if I don't like the 2023 updates and there are any in my size available? Tell me what to do!!!

Buy it now. I don’t think they can make a color better than the huckleberry and finding your size in stock and on sale probably won’t yield a ton of savings, if you can ever find it

I can tell by posts you've made that you're itching to get one. Do you need a big bike right now? If you can hold off, the deals might get better. Transition kind of missed the boat in terms of having very few carbon frames available when the Spire first launched, and now that they're flush with inventory, the market is slow.

Personally I moved somewhere with riding to justify a bike like this, and the fun I've had since October with the bike will be worth any difference in price should there be a reduction, but if I was waiting for park season and happy on my current bike, that would be a different calculus.

So you're saying I should buy it right now, right? COOL!

Is there any compelling reason to order this bike through an LBS (e.g., a glut of known warranty issues) rather than have them send it directly to me? I'm a competent enough mechanic for assembly but I'm unfamiliar with the Transition brand and how they handle warranty items.

Transition has exceptional customer support based on my new experience, but I’d still prefer to go through lbs if any issues were to arise, assuming it’s an option and you like your LBS. Might even be able to negotiate with them.

I bet they would entertain some negotiation, maybe no tax or something?

Unfortunately the online stock is not for LBS, you'd have to confirm if LBS frames are even available to order. Transition competes with their own dealers, lol.

Wow, is that how they do? So do you know if would an LBS be able to order the component spec as shown on the site or only a la carte?
Yeah, 2 separate stocks, dealers can't order online stock. @norcalbike is probably right but you have to call your dealer and check stock.

Spec is the same but you can have online stock delivered to an LBS, and the LBS gets paid, but the LBS can't order it for you.
