That's one of the strange things. There are super deluxe air shocks with HBO but only available through OEM. Maybe you can have it installed by a tuner, but I don't know if you could do it yourself.
BTW: TheLostCo Shop is a great resource for questions like these on Rockshox products. I emailed them and they helped me out with the air canister stuff.
I was under the impression HBO was available on the top new air shock, but that it just wasn’t adjustable like on the coil
I think you're both on the right track here. Air shocks with HBO were definitely OEM only at launch, meant to be custom tuned to manufacturer spec for a given bike. The shock is described as being available "with optional HBO" but if that means it's optional to the aftermarket, none of those have hit store shelves yet. Maybe it's coming to the aftermarket but it ain't here yet.

Regardless, it's not adjustable on the air version, only coil.

Curious, does anyone think going with the 44mm offset crowns would be a better move? Was worried about clearance on the frame.
I need to drop Transition a message asking more details about what will work best with Spire.

Currently I’m waiting what price I can get for:

  • Ohlins
  • DVO
  • RS.

DVO is only 48, RS @ 44 doesn’t fit apparently so it’s not a clear choice as with single crown forks.

Second time riding this trail. -30% average grade. Perfect example of somewhere the Spire just gives the rider such a confidence boost as you’re getting to know things.

Coincidentally, this came up in my insta feed just now:

Sounds like HBO is available as an aftermarket tuning mod to non-HBO ‘23 SDUs by replacing the damper body (unsure what the cost of that is), and that SDUs with HBO right out of the box should also be available aftermarket. If you look at the comments on the post, there’s lots of folks saying “hey, you guys told me it was OEM only!”, with RS responding to those people to check their DMs. So, dunno what that means for the real world—I haven’t seen any of these available with HBO, but this makes it seem like there’s at least some movement in that direction.

Finally got this thing more dialed in - the Super Deluxe needed a lot more LSC than I anticipated - and got it out on a trail that deserves a bike like this (Solstice in Marin County).

I think I’m in love. :)

Slightly peeved that those TRP DH-R Evo builds came out literally a week after I pulled the trigger - those are my favorite brakes! And my build came with the prior gen Rockshox bits. Is the Charger 3 upgrade with it on the Zeb? Pretty stoked on It as is.

Question -- Is the rear hub Boost or Super Boost? Maybe I'm looking right past it on the website but I can't find the info.

This just happened 🤘

Question, are any of you guys running aftermarket or extra downtube protection in the bottom bracket area? The stock guard seems a little thin and I think I remember a pic buried in here somewhere where somebody cracked it in that area.
