Hello,

I'm trying to use one of these cranks with an 1x11 speed drivetrain, not sure if they will work. Any help is appreciated.

According to Shimano website:

* FC-MT511-1 is for 12 speed

* FC-M4100-2 is for 2x10 speed (but I think it can be converted to 1x)

* FC-MT610 is for 12 speed

I'm trying to fit these cranks on a 2020 Trek Marlin 5 if that's any help

Any of the 12speed cranksets will work fine with 11speed chains and cassettes. Internal width of 12 and 11speed chains are the same.

Assuming your Trek has a 141 Boost frame the 52mm chainline will also be decent enough too.

If not and your Marlin has a standard 135mm quick release rear end then maybe an older 11speed Shimano crankset (M7000-1, M8000-1) with a 49mm chainline would suit your set up a little better, if you can source one.

No worries. 😎 Any 11speed chain will work fine, I've used a few namely Shimano, Sram and KMC and can't tell any difference.

I'd say if you want to keep things simple as long as the shifter and derailleur are the same brand and 11speed, the cassette is also 11speed then it's a fit and forget, no brainer job.

With you having a 135qr rear end I'd recomend one of the older cranksets with the 49ish mm (non Boost) chainline.
