Hey team,

I couldn’t find a thread for the upcoming new Scott-bikes, so I figured I might as well start one!

The Roadies just received a brand new Foil for 2023, and I’m expecting some updates to the MTB-line as well. The Genius should follow in the footsteps of the new Spark, as they are usually one year apart. I’m hearing rumours that it will look very similar to the Bold Linkin - not a bad thing if you ask me.

If anyone has any Intel on the 2023 models, feel free to share! :)

Really excited to see what Scott does with the next Genius and Ransom. I feel like Scott doesn't get a lot of attention here in the US, but I've liked their latest gen of mountain bikes.

I think it would be nice to see them ditch the twinloc for the Ransom. I believe the current Ransom comes with a 38 with a fit4 damper and I think it would be nice to have grip2 with no lockout. I don't think I would like a hidden shock inside of a ransom like they did with the new spark. Seems like that would really limit the shock options for a downhill oriented bike, but it wouldn't surprise me if that's the way they go.

I have a ransom with a 36 and feel the twin lock is the best part of that bike…with a 2500g frame, twin lock and some xc wheels and tires the thing can rip as an xc race bike. Switch wheels open it up and it’s A burly park bike really is the one bike quiver

sure it isn’t the fastest enduro race bike but is easily the most versatile all around bike out there

Lockouts/pedal modes on big travel bikes that can pedal like couches make more sense than on short travel race bikes

I feel this is an awful idea ergonomically....far too much motion. Sure it's easier to distinguish intuiviely for the newb
but the use of the twinloc is most often (but not always) tied with the dropper.....going up hill you want suspension firmed up and seat up. Going down you want suspension open and dropper down. having them close together works well and can be accomplished in one motion once you build the muscle memory for it.

I would like to see a new Genius as 150/140 bike with a slightly longer reach and a higher stack. Not necessarily with hidden shock, but they could somehow simplify the TwinLoc setup - I like it, but it is overly complicated as for 150/150 trail bike. I hope they will keep it reasonably light to preserve its versatility. That being said, I still like my MY2020 Genius and despite the construction being now 5 years old, it does not seem to be outdated very much.

I hope supply and availability returns to some degree of normality. Getting my 2022 Spark was a lengthy frustrating excercise, almost gave up a few times. I know dealers in my hometown who dropped Scott over last year’s inability to order what they wanted. I now have a dealer in my new area who has so far only been able to order parts, no bikes.
I know this shortage issue has affected all brands to some degree but Scott really needs to get back on track.

Pre-ordered my 2023 Genius ST frameset when dealers first got news/pricelists/B2B logins (and NDAs), hopefully it'll come in before summer of '23.

Frameset comes with fork, shock (with lockout lever) and handlebar/stem combo. A Fox 36 Grip 2, as the Genius ST doesn't have a lockout for the fork, only for the shock! The regular 2023 Genius has a FIT4 damper and lockout for both front and rear.

The color is the same as the 2023 Genius ST Tuned and 2023 Spark ST Tuned - full black with the yellow stripes on the front. Looks the same as in the pictures above..

Dropped into the Scott dealer today in my town, they just became one a few months ago. He said he was allowed to submit a “pre-season wish list” but thinks supply will still be short for 2023. I just got my Spark a few months ago but might be interested in a gravel model if he can get any of those.

The Genius looks great (hear it will be officially released in Oct-Nov), however after seeing it I opted for a Spark which I believe might be better suited for my local trails. However, the 2023 Sparks are mostly the same bikes with price increases...

I managed to source a 2022 Spark 910. Not the bike I originally hoped for (900 AXS) but I will hold onto this one for now.

Starting soon after the intro now over a year ago, I had multiple US dealers tell me there would likely be no framesets for model year 2022. Then out of nowhere one of the dealers alerted me in April that they had gotten some SL frames, one in each size, and I jumped on the large. Just two weeks ago the same dealer sent an email that they now had Supersonic framesets in stock. Two friends of mine have bought one.

I was able to dig out the info from the cache.

No price listed, and curiously only S, M, and L
