If you're a frequent MTBR reader, you know that we're fans of PNW Components for the user-friendly features they manage to incorporate into their products while keeping prices within the reach of the average mountain biker. Today, PNW is launching an updated version of one of our favorite dropper seatpost levers, the Loam Lever. The Loam Lever Gen 2 offers more adjustability in terms of handlebar positioning with a larger thumb pad for improved ergonomics.

The second iteration of the Loam Lever receives an additional mounting position to the lever body for a total of three and increased spacing between those mounting positions, giving riders 14mm of mounting adjustment compared to the original Loam Lever’s 6mm of lateral adjustment.

A larger, redesigned thumb pad makes the Loam Lever Gen 2 easier to actuate when you need to drop your seat in a hurry, and the silicone pad, which PNW refers to as a “yoga mat for your thumb” provides positive grip even in wet and muddy conditions.

As with the first-gen Loam Lever, this lever features a CNC’d aluminum body, sealed cartridge bearing, and stainless steel hardware. The Loam Lever Gen 2 is also backed by PNW's lifetime warranty against manufacturer's defects.

The Loam Lever Gen 2 retails for $69.00 for the standard 22.2mm clamp version that is compatible with all mountain bike handlebars. PNW also offers direct mount versions for SRAM and Shimano's standards. Upgrading to one of these direct mounts will set buyers back an additional $5.
  • SRAM MatchMaker X (Code, Guide, G2, Level - excluding Level T versions)
  • Shimano I-SPEC II (XTR M9000, XT M8000, SLX M7000, DEORE M6000)
  • Shimano I-SPEC EV (XTR M9100/M9120, XT M8100/M8120, SLX M7100/M7120, Deore M6100/M6120)
