Was there any differences in the actual frame on the Paramount MTBs? They went from a series 20 to 90. I know the components were much better as you progressed up the line.

Yes, depending on the year there were several different models.

Just as an example 1992: The 20, 40, and 50 shared the same luged frame but with different components. The 30 was basically a 'leftover' frame from 1991. The 70 and 90 shared the geomerty with the 50... but used different tubing and were silver brazed instead of brass brazed.

What year and bike are you looking at?

I know the one you're thinking about. He wants insane money for it. Actually, he stripped it and is parting it out now. There's another Waterford 1400 that someone is trying to get $1,400 for. That's more than new if I remember.

Sgltrak that is fabulous. Thank you for posting it. It seems like everybody on that auction site calls their Paramount a Waterford made. I have 2 nice Waterford Road bikes and would like to get either a Waterford 2400 or a Waterford Paramount.

Also don't forget to think about a 1400. I have both a 1400 and a 2400. Effectively the same bike except the 1400 is 753 and the 2400 is 853. I tend to like the feel and ride quality of the 1400 better myself.

CS2, not sure what size you are needing but also check out the PM I sent you a second ago. I am always looking for one of the lugged early 90s paramounts and perhaps if we are needing different sizes we can be each other's eyes and ears for them.
