Novatec 9x141 QR "Boost" HUB ???

Hi there!

I have a bike with this evil rear axle size 9x141 QR (Boost). Which basically is a normal 12x148 BOOST Hub converted with adapters into a 9x141 QR.
My question is, I want to upgrade my wheels and a friend has a set of carbon wheels with a Novatec D791/2SB 12x148 Hub. After doing a huge research online, and being very close now to turn completely crazy about this topic...
Does anyone know if you can adapt a Novatec Hub into this weird size 9x141 QR??
Novatec has a complete conversion kit that you can use with most of their hubs (including the D791/2SB), but when it comes to QR, the conversion kit only mentions that it can be converted to a 9x135mm QR standard, nothing about converting it to a 9x141 QR.

If i am not wrong, a QR conversion kit reduces 3mm x 7mm the Hub axle size, making a 12x142 into a standard 9x135mm QR. (at least with other brands as DT-Swiss).
So If I do the same conversion with that same kit in the 12x148 Hub, I will be able to get this 9x141 QR size that I need, is this correct??
Has anyone made this? Or does anyone know something about Novatec Hubs and how can they convert?

This is the hub:

And this is the conversion kit:

Your help would be great for me, as I am no expert in this topic and there is not much information about this online.

The ease of converting between 141qr and 148ta depends on your hub's construction. The reason the conversion is so easy for hubs like DT Swiss hubs is because the conversion is accomplished ONLY by changing end caps. So for those, the very same endcaps that work to switch between 135 and 142mm do the exact same thing between 141 and 148mm hubs. Because the axle is not involved in the conversion.

With the way Novatec does it, you can't use the exact same conversion kit you'd use for a 135/142mm hub. You would need one with a longer axle to accommodate the 141/148mm hub shell width.

The way the 141qr hub standard has made it to market, it's poorly supported by midlevel hubs like this. Higher end hubs that use end caps supported the standard before the standard even existed, so those manufacturers generally haven't had to do anything new. If you want to upgrade your wheels, I think you'd be better off going that route instead of trying to convert something that has little/no support for doing so.

probably not. but I wouldn't rule it out entirely. Novatec might have a part that's not listed online anywhere else. That happens often enough.

And of course, if nobody asks for such a conversion kit, they won't ever make it. So if you want one, it's definitely in your interests to ask for one, even if they don't currently offer it.

I would search for another qr boost hub with the same diameter spoke holes and pay to relace the carbon parts onto it. Depending on what you find, could be not too expensive.

Even cheaper, pay to relace youre hub into the other wheel.

Most bikes with that standard were pretty budgety bikes so maybe consider another bike as well if you want to improve youre ride.
