Hi guys,

I have just recently got an m9 and have a couple of questions.

There is some creaking from the back end either from the shock bushings or from the linkage. I have read online about replacing the chips on the rear linkage and also using ptfe/plumbers tape on them? I presume this is to be used on the bolts that go into the chips?

also is there an alternative rear spindle option apart from the standard nut and bolt idea?

thanks

The creaking can be coming from a couple different places. What year is your M9?

I had put Teflon tape on the surface of the flip chips, so when they're bolted in and come in contact with the lower link, you eliminate any creaking that may come from there.

I haven't seen any alternative for the rear axle.

Since you have a 2013, you also have the newer lower link so no creaking should be coming from there and everything should be staying nice and tight. I put my money on the flip chips for now. You using the Angleset? Those make noise... I know mine does.

Grease your shoulder bolts too.

hi guys, thanks for the replies. last night I took the chips out and cleaned them up and wrapped a couple of layers of ptfe round them and that seems to have sorted out the creaking. just out of interest has anyone used clear silicone on them and how did that work? just thinking that's a bit more weatherproof (especially for here in Scotland and may last longer?
