I have multiple wheel sets that regularly get swapped and I have never entertained changing pads for a new rotor. Why would you?

 

Thanks, I’ve swapped wheels before, but have always used the same rotors. I’m cheap, so I’ve never bought an extra set, lol. I just thought I might have some noise or vibration issues.

 

Splurge on rotors for each wheel set. That's just being cheap. If you're interested in saving money, just swap tires and have one wheel set

 

It can be hit or miss. I bought some new rotors last year and for whatever reason...the new rotors would not take the old pads. Even after cleaning and sanding the old pads...the brakes would howl like mad. I switched to new pads...the noise went away immediately. The pads were of the same compound too.

 

I would replace the pads.....with hydraulic brakes attached to them!
Barring that, I think I'd replace the pads and get a fresh start.

 

Thanks, that's probably what I'll end up doing. Pads anyway, lol.
