I picked up the new bolt at my LBS. It is the same as the old bolt, i.e. 15 mm thread length. I talked briefly with owner when he gave me the bolt. He claimed that Orbea thinks problems with the main bolt occur when the suspension is not properly set up so that there are too many bottom outs. He further said that this is why he always asks for weight when he sets up the bike for his customers. Yes, really impressive, wow... At this point, I had to choose between getting angry about the complete disregard for the engineering fail and getting on with my ride. Considering the apparent total lack of understanding of the problem with the incorrect thread length, I left to ride on. It's a nice sunny and warm day after all.

I have a 21 Oiz M10 and I need to get a shorter stem. I was going to use something I had on hand, but upon looking at the spacers and headset cover It appears to be a whole system where I can’t use normal round spacers and a normal 31.8 stem. Can anyone help me out on what I need to replace in order to use round spacers and a normal stem? Thanks!

From the pictures it looks like for a 2021 Orbea Oiz you should be able to take the integrated stem off and put a normal round steerer stem straight on. The shaped spacers are flat on top so the contact area between the stem and the spacer will be the same as if you had round spacers.

You could probably pull all the teardrop spacers off and use round spacers with the existing dust cover too. The aheadset top cap would need changing to a round one and you'd use round spacers above the stem with a standard round stem

For a full switch to a standard headset you will need a new round dust cover, round aheadset top cap and round spacers. The actual headset bearings wouldn't need changing. You could get a Cane Creek 40 Series IS42/28.6 low stack upper assembly for example. That will go straight on turning the headset into a standard round one. :)

Hi.

I'm eyeing out a oiz m-pro TR for 2022 and thought I would ask fellow riders what you think of the bike (120/120mm susp.) in the trail discipline?
I get that you can't use it in Enduro stuff but how does it handle normal trails that are red, features like tabletops, drops, jumps, and such?

Also, what are the maximum width tires that you can fit rear and front?

It's an XC bike, not a trail bike. Even in 120 format.

I wouldn't have it as my only bike, it's OK on trail centre stuff, but it's pretty involving and steep.

I also use it for "mild" trail applications (on average once a week I will go to the bike park or do a jump trail) like table tops, 2-3 foot drops, ski jumps, etc. I have had my oiz TR for 2 years and just last week had to have the shock completely rebuilt. No other major issues and I have about 4k miles on the bike. You would probably have more fun on a bigger travel bike if you enjoy doing that kind of riding on the daily, but I am happy with it for the same reasons Rasmazzer said above. I can do a 30 mile xc loop, but then put in a mile long downhill with jumps and features. I think weight is important to factor in how well the bike handles that kind of stuff in the long term. I weigh 152 pounds/69kg. I imagine if I weighed more that would put more stress when doing jumps and drops and may cause more issues.

I just picked up my H10TR and all I got from the dealer was the bike, no manuals or paperwork.

In some of the reviews of the Oiz it talks about Orbea's recommended suspension setup, but where do I find what that is? The manual linked on H10TR page on the website is just their generic manual for all bikes, nothing specific about the Oiz...

I am having a really long marathon race coming up and figured it would be nice to have some suspension on the rougher gravel climbs. I wanted to make the middle setting of the shock on my TR a bit firmer than it is right now. I installed an inline barrel adjuster in the hope that I can use that to fine-tune the middle position.
I didn't really succeed though. I have been able to make it pretty firm, but when pushing down to check the feel, I get a noise that I can't pinpoint. It's sound like a thumping or knocking noise. It didn't sound like it's coming from the shock, more like from somewhere in the front end of the bike, but it's hard to tell. Maybe the sound just transmitts through the top tube and it was the shock. Any ideas? Advice? Similar experience?

The fork and shock are fitted with 3 position valves on the damper, open, medium, and firm, and it's push to unlock so applying tension actually moves you closer to open. You may find that you've adjusted the cable to the shock such that the valve is halfway between medium and open and that's what's causing your noise.

You might be able to achieve what you want with a custom shock tune, changing the shim stack in that 'medium' position.

Is there any info about 2022 Oiz? I already ordered one for my wife but I don't even know what it looks like. :)
Frame is probably same - it should have better and lighter f34sc suspension.
Spec sheet says wheels have Orbea stickers on them but in reality... ? ( Orbea OC3 Carbon 30c Tubeless Ready )
I doubt they will be 1300gr like we are currently using. (newmen)

Are they keeping the Oiz and the Oiz TR for 2022? If they keep the TR then I imagine the regular Oiz will stick with the 32SC. If they drop the TR and make the Oiz 120/120 like the Scott Spark then it will presumably get the 34SC.

My friend who has an Scott Spark has this cool looking downtube/bb cover in case the bike gets a nasty hit 😩. Sadly they don't offer that with the oiz due to lack of mold.

Anyone in the UK that lives close to Liverpool that could lend rockguardz their Oiz bike so he can get an mold of it and offer other Oiz-owner an downtube/bb carbon cover?

It takes three hours and in exchange you'll get one for free.

Best I buy me a better dropper with better service. Maybe Rockshox Reverb?
Cancel your order and replace the factory dropper. I replaced mine with an SDG Tellis 170mm post a while back and love it.

I have also replaced my squidlock with a rockshox twistloc so that I can run a regular dropper post lever.
The twistloc works fine with the Fox fork/shock
