I have a Maverick Durance that currently is running a SLX with the outer ring removed and a bash guard. It is technically a 2x9 but I do not shift to the granny so I run it as a 1x9.

I am planning to remove the granny and get an e-thirteen ring and chain guide/bash and turn it into an actual 1x9. I was also considering just buying a race face atlas free ride crank with an e-thirteen ring and chain guide/bash and replace my whole crank.

Lastly I was thinking about the Truvative Hammerschmidt crank.

I do mostly trail riding/ all mountain with drops and I ride pretty aggressively. I know that I want a 1x9 set up but the hammerschidt looks interesting.

Can someone help me make a decision or recommend other options?

"The Truvativ HammerSchmidt All Mountain Crankset will only mount on frames with ISCG 03 or ISCG 05 tabs". I don't believe your frame has these tabs, but I could be wrong.

The SLX is a nice crankset. It is easy to remove the inner chainring and make it a 1X9 if you want.

If it were me, I would save my money. Make your existing crank a 1x. Remove all rings, install guide ring, install chain guide (eg e13 XCX or MRP 1.x) and be done with it. Works well and is a lot cheaper than an Hammerschmidt.
