I have been demoing alot of 29ers lately and really enjoy the ride. If/When Ibis comes out with one what would you like to see?

Here are my suggestions.

5" Full Suspension with geometry designed around a 130mm fork.
6lb frame weight
Tabs for a command post
Tapered Head Angle
142mm x 12mm Rear
69.5 Head Angle
Integrated BB for shorter chainstays.

Erik
What 130mm 29'r fork is 130mm? 69.5 is too steep for a 5" travel bike. Short stays will be very tough with DW and 5" travel.

Make the rear axle a Maxle for ease of wheel removal.

Yes, missed that. It should be based on the Reba 140 and yes, the rear 12mm Maxle would be sweet. I think a 140HD 29er would be the ticket.

I will buy one as soon as they release it. I have been waiting for either ibis to release a 29er or Niner to release a carbon rip 9. I am guessing Ibis will be the first to it. Hopefully we will know something soon. If their 29er is anywhere near as good as the Mojo, I will be psyched.

130mm Rocky Shox Reba is available with tapered steerer and 20mm axle
69.5° to me is perfect for a 29r with 130mm of travel. Give snap in the twisties and still give something on the downhill. I just checked Niner WFO and Stumpies FSR. Stump is 69.5°, but has a custom offset fork.
You are right, I'm very curious to see how they can get around short stays with the DW link. I think a good start is to have a intergrated bottom bracket. If they could fit a 17.25-17.5 stay I would be happy.

If anything, 69.5 deg is on the slack side for 29ers....anyway, I'm not about to try and coach Scot and the gang on making a bike handle nice... I'm on Ibis #3 and sold and rode many others back in the day....and they all handled great....disappeared beneath you, so I trust them fully to get it right.

i think you guys are on the right track with this. the 29er movement is still expanding and starting to encompass the "AM" format. an "HD" style 29er would likely be immensely popular. it's the bike i'm waiting for to finally drag me over the 29er scene.

now i'm headed over to the suspension forum to lobby for a RS Lyrik29 140....:D

DW Link, 4" travel
Tapered headtube
142 x 12 mm Maxle rear
<= 5 lb frame + shock
BB30

Basically, a light, stiff, efficient endurance racer's dream bike. Mix a Pivot 429 (stiffness, handling) with the Sultan (smooth suspension performance).

I'd buy this setup in a heartbeat--probably relegating my DW Sultan to AM duties.

Nobody at Ibis has ever called the 29er a Mojo.
Honestly, based on DW's new Split-Pivot patent and some of Hans' comments, it probably will be something other than a big-wheel Mojo, even though it may share some of the Mojo's er... mojo.
