Hi

I asked this because I have a tyre that`s a little oldie (2.5 years) and I have used it, just for 100 off road km or so. I wanted to use it again (the rubber seems to be in perfect conditions), but it gets so EASY into the rim (mavic x221) that I`m afraid that during a race or something like that it will come out of the rim (I don`t know if that could happen  ). Anyways it`ll be used as a front tyre, inflated to 40-45psi. I`m a lightweight rider (145lbs) but want speed.

The tyre is a specialized rockster pro 1.9

thanks a lot!
bye

Yes, but just because a tire is easy to mount on a rim does not mean it will blow off easily.

The main reason a tire is easy to mount on a rim is the rim has a deep center drop. The bead seat is the correct size and the tire will stay on as long as it is inflated.

I`ve ridden the tyre this past weekend on a training ride and in an inspection of the race course. Pretty hard both times. Now it`s inflated to the same 40psi. So what do you think? After reading your answer I get the feeling that it`ll be ok.
thanks a lot!
