Looking for rear shock recommendations. Need to replace fox x2. Thinking of going deluxe ultimate. Would I need as specific tune of can I run stock? - any other recommendations? Want something poppy for steeper trail riding and not ground huggy for enduro type stuff.
Based on Jeff Kendall Weed it seems like you're after the Fox Float X.

However, just a thought, if you have not sent in your X2 to Fox for a warranty swap to the new 2024 you might give that a shot. Initial reports are that it is a bit more poppy and more supported through the mid stroke. I'll have mine back from Fox at the end of the week so I can't give a first-hand account just yet. I was quoted 5-6 weeks turn around and actual down time will be 12 days assuming UPS is not delayed (USA West Coast).

I’m currently running a factory float x and like it better than the stock X2. It feels a lot more poppy than the X2 that came on the bike.

How did you have Fox tune the shock for your Ripmo?
My LBS gave the Fox tech rep all my info and how I ride…Fox then tuned it to me. I did not get the specifics on the tune.
I also worked with a local (Shock Hause) tuner to get the Fox38 set to me. Added 10cc block to the negative chamber then redid valving to me. I am a Clyde (230-240).
hope that helps.

My brother is selling his Ibis Ripmo 40th Anniversary bike. These were only available to their enduro team. Less than 500 miles. It’s a medium. These were not available to the public and I won it from Ibis. It’s literally 1 of 1. There was rumor of a large that was made but I don’t think it made it to the public. XTR build but has AXS on it now. Let me know if you know anyone that may be interested.

I didn't care for the star destroyer gray, and I miss the old tangerine/sky. So I rolled my own with a mishmash of V2S-like graphics, but I kept the metal Ibis logo on the head tube. As noted above, I had to get a cascade link due to self-inflicted wounds.

Now the V2 is finally my favorite. I love these Ripmos!
