Check this Rimpo out on YouTube if you have a chance... I guess it's considered outdated now?

No way man! As SlowUnstead mentioned above….breathe some new life onto your V2!

Not sure about the benefits of a 55mm chain line on the new swing arms but the benefits of upforking your bike to 170mm are super palpable. Cascade link on the way. [emoji16]

I’m actually thinking about putting lighter fork/shock on my Ripmo and buying a bigger bike to compliment it, now that I’ve sold my Ripley. One of those cheap Lyrik forks that are on sale in front and a float X or similar on back?

Well, my x2 gave up the ghost, so the Float X is in the way. I was trying to grab a performance elite one to match the black stanchions of the lyrik, but only the factory was available, so I’ll probably just rock the 38 for a while longer.

I am excited to try the Float X with a Mezzer Pro (big sale, sold out now). Told the shop an X2 was my dealbreaker for the V2 sale.

Don't know what you're paying for a Lyrik, but the day I purchased this was $712 delivered to US: Mezzer Pro 29" 160-180 Tapered Boost
I think I’ll just stick with the 38 for a bit, but lyrik ultimates from last year are similarly priced. Call me vein, but I can’t have kashima on one end, and black on the other.

I have a Ripmo v2 and a Ripley v4. Was wondering if anyone is riding both? Only because I was thinking of selling one to get some extra cash. I like both for different types of terrain but wondered if could I swap parts over and build a super light ripmo with rekons for longer rides. I like having the versatility of a 36 fork and maybe I could get rid of the x2 and get a float x shock for weight.

I’m kind of torn really as I don’t ride that much these days compared to what I used to do.
I mean maybe they are too similar as well and should I look at a different bike all together.
Any views on this?

I recently sold the Ripley. I find the Ripmo to be more comfortable and solid/stiff. It is more enjoyable to ride. I have my Ripmo built with a Fox 36 (edited from 35) and a Float X2.

I had both and sold the Ripley. But I also would never run Rekons on a Ripmo, unless it was a second wheelset for XC.

The Fox 35 was a very special and rare fork, indeed. ;)
I sold my Ripley V4 a few years ago.
I would not build a Ripmo into a lightweight trail bike when it came to tires. It'd be like putting cheap all seasons on a high performance car. I've done both, ha.

Yeah, that dang 35 was specially made for me. I really appreciated FOX doing that. :D I would do lighter tires if I were running a super long ride (like a death march or something) and trails were smooth and not loose. As it stands, I use a Dissector rear and DHR in front. If I were to do a specific ride where I needed lighter weight and lower drag, I'd probably do a Dissector front and rear or a Dissector front and Rekon rear. I would not do that all the time but our trails are steep and sometimes loose so I like a little more grip.

My V2 Ripmo XL weighs 29.3 lbs. I dressed it up from the start to be a trail bike with the added safety and fun of the 36 fork. Fox dpx2 and 2.4 Rekons on 35 mm rims. I could lower the weight further by moving to 30 mm, for a trail bike maybe 35 is too much and it limits the range of tires. I have raced 7-day XC epics with it, very happily. I even used Schwalbe's Racing Ray and Ralph in one, to much contempt of quite a few enduro hardcores. It is such a versatile bike.

That does look good. Maybe I should try and get it changed a bit and see how I feel when riding it.

Is there much difference in ride from the x2 when using a float x?
Depends who you are and the terrain. I'm 165 pounds geared up, priority is NOT super gnar aggressive fast chunky DH. The X2 is not my shock of choice because of that. The Float X, to me on my trails, feels like a DPX2 version 2.0. I insisted on the Float X for my V2. My friend is a super aggressive 175 pounder, and he wouldn't take anything less than the X2 for his brutally fast rough trails.
