Why would you be replacing it? The only real diff is the 1* HTA change and slight added progressiveness, which can mostly (partly?) be tuned in with shock. I had a V1, sold it to a buddy and got a V2. Ended up putting an angelset in to make it like the V1 (1* steeper) so coulda just kept the V1. But most seem to prefer the V2 HTA. Just depends where and how you ride. The steeper HTA is a bit more nimble and sporty and slack enough for me on DH's. I don't race Enduro or ride super steeps very often.
I see you have a Rise. How does it ride compared to your V2, like how supple/plush and how progressive on big stuff? I have an AF but looking to add an emtb eventually, only looking at the "smaller battery/motor" concept ones.

Nooope!
Hence the bottle... and obsession to get things to fit the right way.

After years of dealing with bladders for years, I like the simplicity of bottles too. They're just so easy to work with. I run one or two and normally wear the fanny pack. The packs are great. Been on the little Dakine one that fits one bottle but just got the new Osprey Savu 2 and it's wonderful. Sits low like the Lab Austere one but has more support and only carries one bottle, which is nice since one rides on the bike, when two are needed. Savu 2 - Osprey Packs Official Site

Side tip for those that don't know, if you use a bladder, toss it and the hose in the freezer when done and you'll never have mold or need to dry one every again. Been doing this for over 20 years! I still use a bladder on certain rides/seasons when I need to wear a backpack.

Considering getting a V2 to replace my V1... but can't decide if it´s a good idea or not. On the other hand, what are the alternatives for a bike that is so versatile?

Total cost should be around €1500-€2000 when the V1 is sold. Not that bad...

Talk me in or out of this or give me other options ;)
If there's anything to gain, it might be more plush off the top when factoring in the end stroke support you get. That's the main perk of the progressive suspension. They ride great. I've been on a V1 and it's a great bike, I just felt it didn't get along that well with the dpx2. The V2 is a special bike in that you can run a coil and still be the same weight as many of the competitors bikes with an air shock. Have you cake and eat it too. Great pedaling with coil plushness downhill. How many bikes can do that, given the weight? I still like the blue metallic/orange of the V1 best though. Ibis really needs to work on their graphics though, IMO. The carbon Ripley and Mojo4 look way better to me.

Replacing because I wan't to 🤣

I love my setup now. Yes it took a bit of finagle to get there but now there is zero interference with the frame or the shock and looks clean when the bottle is off. I've yet to test it on the trails, still waiting on the Onyx to come back from warranty. ?

On the side tip- do you mean tossing the bladder in the fridge? Won't the bite valve or tube crack in freezer temps? I've been putting mine in the non freezer fridge section.

Yep, bladder, hose and all. I empty it all out first so there's barely any water in there and the materials flex enough to handle some frost. Never broke a thing in 20+ years of doing this. It was actually a sale rep for Platypus that taught us this in a clinic when I worked in shops.

On the bottles, it sounds like the V2 must have less room than the AF? I just put a Lezyne side loader in my large AF and a standard bottle fits with no mods. Can't fit a large bottle though.

What have people with the x2 been using for bottles/holders? Seems like the air can will clip the top of a 24 oz bottle when compressed.

Right now I’m using a short bottle with a see cage. Wondering if anyone has a creative way to fit a larger bottle....

Topaz question - anyone pinch the o-ring between the positive and negative air chambers when playing with the volume spacers? Added a positive spacer this morning to prep for an after work ride, but now the shock packs down when setting sag and doesn't fully return without lifting up the front end. Slid the outer can down and there's the slightest nick in the o-ring between the two chambers. Guessing the nick is allowing air to pass between the two when it shouldn't be. I'm assuming it needs a new o-ring...which I'll probably just nick again as soon as I replace it. Ugh.

Come on Storia, another week and a half...

Cascade link... I wonder what it would offer up? It seems their other links add what 5-10mm of travel and more progression? I think I'm good with the current147mm and progression curve but it'll be interesting to find out.

I'd probably be down. I'm lucky enough to have a TB4 also, so some additional differentiation wouldn't be a bad thing (they are both pretty capable, with the ripmo obviously being a bit more so).

What I would REALLY love is if it was an option for mullet like they have for their hightower :)

Makes sense. The TB4 is pretty capable I hear. I've been really curious how a Ripmo with coil compares to the HT2 (non coil until they redesign it) and the new Stumpy Evo with a coil. Lots of good bikes these days! I think more brands will try and do what Specialized did with the Stumpy Evo with really dialed adjustable geo and mullet option. Great design. I'm getting a coil for my AF and I've demo'd an HT2 so I'll know more soon.

I've been using a Zee Cage on my medium V2 w/ a X2.
I can fit a 24oz bottle no problem. The bottom of the bottle almost touches the seat tube, and the bottle has tons of clearance to the shock.
Do you have the piggyback forward and up?
