Available in Star Destroyer Grey and Bug Zapper Blue, the new Ripmo V2 has a one degree slacker head angle, improved lower link protection, updated dropper post cable routing, more progressive and coil compatible, and it's a smidge stiffer.

Go to YouTube and look up Dvo Diamond service. I have a video up there that shows the whole process including burping the bladder and full damper service. Just look for the one with Ozibis in the title. That should show you everything you need to know. Thanks, super helpful. I haven't com across a video or clear instructions for a lower service. I have read through the full service instructions on the DVO website. Anybody have a good link?
That's assuming there is the correct amount of oil in the lowers which is a big assumption. That hasn't been the case in a hell of a lot of Diamonds. Not sure if the Onyx has had the same thing happening but all brands are guilty of it. The only way to eliminate the chance of that is to do a lower service. It can't hurt anyway even IF there is enough oil in there. If you put the bike upside down for a while you see that stickiness it´s no longer present so i think it´s a matter of lubrification.
I talked to the DVO guys and this is exactly what they said. Unfortunately when I did this it did not help. They said this means I probably have a sticky bushing and would need to send the shock in, 3-4 weeks ouch. Going to my LBS to see what they say and will try a lower service just be sure. Losing a month would be rough! If you put the bike upside down for a while you see that stickiness it´s no longer present so i think it´s a matter of lubrification.
Great build, how tall are you?Hey guys, with regards the question above re dvo onyx lowers my recent experience is they are not dry by any means but mine had no more than 15ml in each side. I recently took delivery of my ripmo v2 deore size large in bug zapper blue and dropping the lowers and putting 30ml of fox gold oil in each leg was the first jobs I did. Forks feel awesome which is a relief as I've ran lyriks for the last 4 years and was so stoked on them, especially the ultimate's that I had on my hightower V2. Literally done my first ride on it today and I'm really pleased with it. Upgraded the cassette to xt, shifter to xt, cranks to slx 170mm and rear mech to xtr. I've gone with the 45/10 cassette and med cage mech as I don't require a 51t out back. Also put a 200mm dropper on it which fits a treat and some carbon bars with 40mm rise and 40mm stem. Protection wise I went with a full invisi kit for frame and forks and also refitted the stfu off my santa Cruz. Weighs 14.4kg so pretty stoked on that.
I'm 185cm but 7 months ago I had big crash riding downhill and pretty much wrote my arm off, had a radial replacement and lots of plates, 12 screws and also broke my ulna above the wrist, subsequently my left arm is now unable to straighten beyond 45' and it means my left arm is 70mm shorter than my right. I'm waiting on another operation which hopefully will give me better motion. My point telling you all that is that I needed a bike with sensible reach for me which ripmo is at 475mm, my last bike before my accident was an XL hightower V2 with a reach of 493. Ripmo fits me a treat in large though and even without my situation is probably go large just with a 50mm stem and the saddle a little further back on the rails.Great build, how tall are you?
Nice build man! Just curious what your main pros and cons are for the HT2 vs Ripmo V2? Both stellar bikes.Hey guys, with regards the question above re dvo onyx lowers my recent experience is they are not dry by any means but mine had no more than 15ml in each side. Well, it turned out to be a sticky bushing. After riding this morning I drove over to DVO on a whim as I happen to live an hour away. They are backed up like three weeks right now which I knew so I had no expectations. Ronnie himself grabbed my bike, disassembled the whole fork and rebuilt it then and there. Night and day difference, can't wait to ride tomorrow. What a stud for him to do that for me, felt like I was on the DVO team or something. Mad respect. I just got home and fedexed those guys a baller thank you package. That's assuming there is the correct amount of oil in the lowers which is a big assumption. That's pretty awesome service. I haven't dealt with DVO directly but from what a lot of people say they are very good to deal with. I have dealt with Ibis directly from Australia and their customer service and response time is absolutely incredible. Probably the best service I have received from any company ever. I was at one stage considering getting another brand of bike before I bought the V2 and I was finding it very hard to make a decision because of how good the Ripmo's are. The customer service was what finalised the decision for me to stay on a Ripmo. That and the way the Ibis rides and it was absolutely the right decision. Too many companies don't look after their customers well enough and are loosing customers to the ones that do and rightfully so.Well, it turned out to be a sticky bushing. I did ask about the massive difference in Topaz setup recommendations between DVO and Ibis. That was pretty interesting to hear about what they did though I fear I can't accurately relay the changes as it was a bit over my head, the changes are significant in the shock that comes with your Ibis.
It's a bit too early to draw any definite conclusions as I've only ridden the ripmo twice and not in varied situations.Nice build man! Just curious what your main pros and cons are for the HT2 vs Ripmo V2? Both stellar bikes.
Since no one has said it, nice! Looks awesome, welcome to the club. Finally got my bike. Ordered in October, wanted it with an XT kit, but the bike shop just couldn't get them in. They offered to go GX Eagle, but I was stubborn and waited, and waited. By January I'm sorta fed up but still don't really wanna go GX, so I ended up going custom. I don't recommend that unless you have deep pockets, the result is below and now that I've put in a few rides, I couldn't be happier. It's a little heavy, looking forward to upgrading the wheels at some point and the brakes seem a little underpowered for my 210lbs so I'll probably go Code brakes at some point (I wanted them to begin with except, stock issues ... again F#@&%$ COVID). Nice rig! I bet that scale is off by about 1 lb and I'm guessing you weighed it with pedals on, which most mfgs and online bike mags weight them without pedals. Those Assegais are also about 0.6 lbs heavier than an Aggressor/DHF in regular EXO so not light. Enjoy man! Great bike. Finally got my bike. Sell it, doubt you'll have any issues locating a buyer. Sure there are other bikes that will match your needs better.Just wow, a little wetness, clay, and some muddy spots and this v2 ripmo just shuts down. Newbies, you've been warned, unless you're riding in dry conditions, this thing is somewhat useless. The rear wheel "well" seems too tight, no tolerance for much else than the tire. I must say, so far, this flippin bike is more finicky than a friggin German sports car. Maybe I need different tires? No idea. This and all the little "fixes" for the XT drivetrain (thanks a lot for nothing "x+2" bikes, "Chuck" didn't respond either to 2 questions, whatever Ibis), really just feeling frustrated. I'm thinking all the reviews in 2020 were, maybe, not so honest. Was it worth the wait & hype? Definitely not imho. So tempted to sell it. Medium. xt build. Fox factory suspension front & rear. Wonder what it would go for....
