i have a white niner wfo 9, I HATE WHITE! i always rode black bike, but it was either white or doodoo brown. i called niner once about this and they had a list of companies that could paint my wfo9 and but still keep my bike compliant with my warranty, very cool..

I have the same issue, got an element 950. It is white as milk. Really dont care for it much.

I figure when I am riding I cant look at the bike anyway.

Also I hope that a good dusting of brown socal dust will improve the look.

My buddy purchased a new white SC Heckler. After it was built he decided he just didn't like the color. I told him rather than mess around w/ the frame why not add some color to some components. He removed a few of the black items SP clamp, HS top cap, grip clamps, HS spacers and after a few minor changes he said the splash of blue anodized parts had him keeping the white finish.

Adding secondary color can definitely enhance the look. I wasn't too crazy about my green Kona Unit, although it's perfect color to name it Fett Boy (after Boba Fett), and I was contemplating getting a new frame, but not since I saw the exact same bike with red bits here and there. Now I'm slowly upgrading with components with red bits.

I bought a more expensive bike than I had originally wanted because the new model year was white and I did not want a white bike. The components were a lot better too though....just saying...I also own two white cars, I hate white cars!

I would also go with a powder coat finish, it will hold up much better to the wear and tear of a mountain bike trail.

Ok I think i have got it...

Thanks for the many replies, as well as the ridicule. I really like the glowy spoke things and the Electrical tape...haha :p

I really wanted matt black, so I will, at some point, have my bike powder coated, Matt Black. Then I will contact Motobecane, and see if they have MOTOBECANE Stickers, or the MoTOBECANE font that I can get some Vinyl Stickers made. Or something similar...?

Or possible leave it Just matt. Hopefully, it will be un-showy that passers-by's wouldn't think to try and steal it.

Heres one I found that looks similar to what i like.

Maybe I'll post in the MOTOBECANE Forum to see if someone wants to trade

Or this one From BD:

BMW M 2

Hydro dipping, hydro graphics, there's alot of names for the process. I think it's a cool idea if you want a pattern painted on well most anything. I'm not sure what the prices are. I think you can get do it yourself kits, or there's probably someone in your area that does it.this is not mine

Being somebody who's done the rattle can paint thing a few times, I can tell you... dont' waste your time. Get it powder coated. A good shop will do a stellar job for under $100 for stripping and powder coating.

Rattle can paint is not durable and scratches up really fast.... it also takes a crapload of work to get it to look good.

OP, how happy are you with the ride of that bike, seriously? As Fo said, not what I'd call an expensive bike and if you might not be keeping it for a while might not be worth spending $$ on it to change the colour. That being said, if you like how it rides and handles, then for sure you also need to like how it looks. My advice, get some aircraft paint stripper and strip the frame, then either get it painted or PCd. For me the biggest turn off about the Moto frames is that horrific DT logo.

you are lucky i am currently blocked from repping or i would give you a negative rep for agreeing with me. it also pisses me off that you are closing in on me with number of posts.

and since "its only money", i would recommend some Edge carbon wheels to go with the spectrum powdercoat job
