Might be too thin. If you don't have fox float, rockshox redrum also works well.

or an other synthetic oil of a similar viscosity (don't look at what's on the front label, need something which is similar Viscosity Index to fox float).

 

RWC do their own version. But IMO you're better with grease than oil in your rear shock air-seals. The oil just ends up where you don't want it. Either filling up the negative chamber or against the air-valve so it fills up your shock pump.

I've always got lots of Slickhoney, Buzzy's Slickoleum, on hand. Float fluid not always. Can this be used on a routine seals change for Fox Float rear shox? Like, using a very liberal amount of the Slickoleum in place of the 2-3cc of Float Fluid?

Just did a google search and up came you site with the answer to my question. Other sites support Slickoleum for this application as well.

 

Ergh. Well, I've also got some Rock Shox 15w Suspension Fluid also. Might that work??

If neither of these work, I'll just buy a bucket of the Fox Fluid. I've got no use for these since Rock Shock changed up their suggested fluids. Just hate to get rid of good and pricey stuff, seems like such a waist.

So , any suggestions on what to use these old fluids for ??

 

they sell the pillow packs, they are only like $2.00 via LBS or online. Buying a container of that would be a waste.

 

Just buy some fox float fluid. Either pillow packs or 8oz. I bought the 8 oz as I maintain all my friends bikes and flip a few every year. I've had it for 4-5 years and have barely made a dent.

I remember float fluid being similar to 75/90W gear oil. Super thick stuff compared to normal fork oil.

Also works quite well to lube floor and portable bike tire pumps...
