I'm 5'10.5", and run my saddle at 28.75" (ctr to top of saddle, along seat tube/post). I took a quick spin on a friend's 2011 large EMD, and it felt a little low/long. He's running a 100mm x 7* stem flipped with a flat bar (fork is a Reba SL).

What length stems do folks run on their medium EMDs? A 90mm-100mm stem on a medium might be the ticket for me, but I don't want to be too far over the front end.

5'9 here and run a 70mm stem on my med emd. I tried both a 90 and 80mm stem but they were just too sluggish for my tastes.

Talked to the wizards at Niner (Interbike), and when I told them I'd be running bars with lots o' sweep, they said large. Checking the couch cushions for change...

I'd be a little skeptical of a large without riding a medium first. Even though you've already ridden a large the sweep on the bars may not be enough to make you comfortable in the saddle. You may end up with a much shorter stem than you are used to. I'd try a medium frame with a 80-90mm stem and maybe even a lean back seat post. Food for thought...
