Exactly what I was looking to get out of this thread. Just looking at PB market place they seem to be around the $400 mark for a set so I think the performance/value ratio is higher there than dumping a bunch of money in my wheels.
Remember that M(X/E)1700 is NOT the same wheel as the XM1700. Different rims, spokes. The m(x/e)1700 has cheaper sleeved rims. The have 350 based hubs but only 18t ratchets.

Does anyone know if the 370 Hub with ratchet LN 18 is supposed to be dead silent?

I have them on M1900 on a sb115 you cant hear it when freewheeling but without rider just holding saddle up then theres barely any sound.

2022 and newer come stock with the ratchet LN

BUT... it is only 18T if i remember, so your are not gaining much of anything there, and i dont think it is compatible with the upgrade kits for the 350/240 - could be wrong on that but i think they are different shapes. Definitely totally different freehub bodies.

I wouldn't sink money into this wheelset. I thought it's DT so they must be decent, but I kinda killed my M1900s pretty quickly. After one trip to the bike park, the rear started losing spoke tension and going out of true constantly. When I tried to true them, I found out that the nipples are made out of cheese. The rims also seem a bit soft, I got a few dings in the rear in situations where I feel like the rims should have held up.
I'm only around 145lbs as well.

do you guys know if i can put the “old” dt 350 ratchet in the 370LN hub? i think it will fit but mosses one seals then

They may be cheaper, but their quality is still pretty high.

I have 1700 wheelsets on 3 of my bikes. None are the X variety. I've had them for years, have put thousands of miles on them, and I weigh 190-200 pounds geared up. They have taken zero dents and none of them have needed any truing.

I picked up a used set of XM 1700(ridden twice) with factory 54T upgrade for $520 shipped a couple of months ago om Pinkbike. Awesome wheel/hub combo.

I'm just making sure when shopping used people know that the non X versions are completely different wheels that should far less money. The X series is very new and there wont be too many used options yet so people seem to get confused when searching for them.

They are only 436-479 euros new (466-511usd).
You guys overseas get a lot better prices on wheels than we do in the states. An E1700 Spline 2 wheelset had a retail price tag of almost 900 dollars some years ago. To get a 29er boost wheelset from REI (first site I found... maybe not the cheapest) a set of XM 1700 wheels will cost over 1000 dollars.

I'm in canada and can buy cheap DT wheels from all the usual sites. It seems only the usa is blocked.

I'm in canada
Oh man... just like an ignorant American... I thought you were in some Western European country since you were quoting prices in euros. Don't Canadians use dollars? Canadian dollars?

I don't know why all these DT Swiss wheels come with pathetically low engagement hubs, do people actually like that?!

It's probably just to hose people for another couple hundred bucks once they find out how bad 36T sucks.
