I did the ao42rc too...No additional hardware. You just need the metal sleeves out of the original bushings. You can press them out pretty easily with a socket and with a light tap of a hammer. I like this shock, it's surprisingly badass...

I basically only have the frame left on mine. Upgraded everything else. Local bike shop said the frame is a good frame and I put what some may say is too much in to it bi to say it's the best money ever spent. Replaced forks, drive train, brakes, rear shock, handle bars and stem, grips. Basically all the same components as a 2000+ bike and I can't be happier.

Thanks everyone. I ordered the AO-42RC and also used the SR Suntour upgrade program and ordered the EPIXON 9 LO R. That should dramatically upgrade the trail capabilities over the stock components! :)

2015

Hi all, I have a new-to-me 2016 recoil, size small with 27.5 wheels...not a comp version or anything fancy, and would like to upgrade my suspension. I have an opportunity to get both a Rockshox Tk silver sektor 27.5 fork 140mm travel and a rear rockshox monarch R 200x51 for between 100-150 bucks and I was wondering if those will fit my bike and also if it's worth the effort to upgrade or if I should wait for something else to come down the pike? I don't have a ton of money to put toward it right now but I think my front fork might be broken because the preload adjustment does nothing. The fork and rear shock I mentioned getting came off a 2015 giant trance. Thanks in advance for any advice. This forum has been very helpful.
