I've been using Wolftooth Remote levers since they came out. I install them and pretty much ignore them. I don't bother with the integrated clamp BS. separate clamps for me.

Still pulls up for me. Typo in your web address, maybe?
Maybe I wasn't clear. The website opened, but my antivirus (Bitdefender) gave me a warning that the page is unsafe. (sometimes I get false positives, but other times it's kept me from harm with all the malicious adware around these days). I don't think PNW is out to get us, so not 100% sure what to make of it.

I've used quite a few, but they all seem the same to me. I got a PNW Loam lever and was expecting to feel some kinda way, but it just felt like every other dropper lever. My last new MTB was a Giant Trance and I expected to want to upgrade the lever when I got a new dropper, but the Giant brand lever actually feels really good, so I've just kept it and been running it.

Oh, gotcha. You were probably 100% clear to anyone that’s not “simple” when it comes to the ways of the internets.

Hopefully just PNW gets my lucky charms, lol.

It’s not going to tell you the secret to the meaning of life, 🤡 but it is a pretty comfy and solid lever.

The price may seem ridiculous, but the difference in slop and pull consistency between a $30 and $60 lever is night and day. If you're looking at the cheap Chinese ones remember that their ability to make butter soft alloys and castings with air bubbles in them like hand made glass is second to none.

As mentioned, SL-MT500-IL. From my experience a slightly longer throw than the XTR version and a larger paddle.
I have both the 500 and 800...the difference is some ~2mm in cable pull. I can't tell the difference. If someone was to switch these around without me knowing...I would not notice.

They do have a return spring that non of the other levers I've tried has.

Bottom one is the MT800.

Here is the link for the MT800 at $29.95/free shipping. iSpec EV only...but it does come with a cable.

MT500 with the 22.2 clamp

I am looking for a real cheap dropper lever that will simply work. I have no idea what would make someone feel the need to buy a $30 + dropper lever.
(There have been annoying and condescending posts in this thread and that is really sad.)

The SL-MT500 levers are well made from the major manufacturer, Shimano. I especially like the cable route with built in clamp. Cheap included levers like the one on inexpensive Tranzx use a barrel with a pinch grub screw.

Here it is at REI, free ship to store.

Shimano MT500 is cheap, solid and reliable and came with a Teflon coated cable. mine has worked flawlessly. I don’t know why anyone would need anything more expensive or fancier as it works a treat.

Indeed it is amazing how soft the metal is on the Aliexpress levers. You would think "but it should still be fine for a dropper lever", yet is it not.

That shimano lever is solid. I had a shimano lever for years with no issues. There are nicer ergonomics out there, but its top quality, very durable, and I really do not see why someone with a $30 budget would get something else. Back in the day I paid a lot more for mine.

Amazon has https://a.co/d/ao6grrh - you can probably find the same one on eBay and Ali express. I got one for around $15 to use until I could get a nicer lever. But I Reilly ended up liking it. It has super smooth action, plenty of adjustment and comes with everything you need to do the install.

Comes with two sperms. They were not in the installation video, thankfully.

Dropper levers make me irrationally angry. You can go out and get a decent feeling shimano shifter (deore, Altus, hell even older xt) for $20. it isn’t fancy materials, but it does an even more complex thing than a simple dropper lever, it pulls a very specific length of cable. It also has a second lever that releases cable and an internal spring and a cable adjuster, everything. But then shimano comes out with a dropper specific lever, and it costs twice as much. Why? My old shifters all felt fine almost their entire lives, no play, positive feeling, but because droppers go on expensive mountain bikes, companies charge upwards of $100 for a single lever that does the exact same thing.
Anyways, rant over, I use pnw levers for everything except one bike where I got a cheap oneup that works great.
