Hi all!
I want to upgrade my RS 2019 Yari with a better damper and i want to know if there are any real world differences between Charger 2 and Charger 2.1? (They are both RC2)
My friend is selling his used Charger 2 for half the price of new 2.1 so will i be better off going with the used one for this price or no?
Are used Chargers prone to failure more than the new ones or have some sort of reliability issues?
Im fine with paying more for a newer generation if its actually worth it, but as far as i understand they've only done some minor tuning tweaks to it compared to Charger 2.
If you had any experiences with both dampers please let me know in the thread.
Thanks!

I had a Charger 2 RC and was never happy with it, it worked OK, but not with Debonair - it was too harsh and I never reached full travel (170mm), it only worked with a softer setup, but then the fork bogged down.
After I changed to Charger2.1 rc2, it was way better, but still my hands fell off the bar after some minutes of really chunky trail (Klinovec enduro line).
That's apples and oranges - but I would not throw good money after bad. Take your friends Charger2 rc2, it is a huge improvement - the fork will never be perfect, but at least rideable.

All Charger bladders will fail, when not serviced or at least checked for too much oil on a regular basis (6 months or so). I would give them a fresh bleed anyway.

From what I've read here the 2 is pretty awful and the 2.1 is significantly better.

In my experience the only damper I've ever ridden from RS that works is the 2.1 rc2. I'm pretty sure I will have ridden both the 2 and 1. I can't 100% confirm as to me they were all just another divey spikey damper, I first got interested when I rode the 2.1 rc2 when not only did it not suck, but it worked!

Which RC do you mean? I guess not the one with the IFP, right?
What's wrong with the LSC on 2.1 RC2? I thought only 2.0 RC2 had needle which was not closing completely.
Charger RC. The ones with bladder dampers but only LSC compression adjustment. Not the "garbager" used on the select forks.

Yes Charger 2 had undersize LSC needles on the RCT3 and RC2. The RC worked properly. The Charger 2.1 needles were the right size until recently. They revised them about Zeb introduction.
