Thanks for the reply. I usually use KMC, but the ones I can find from them say they work for KMC and SRAM chains, but do not mention Shimano, which is what I have. Just go back to 11 speed. 12 is not really better anyway. Now all you need to do is buy drivetrains. You're welcome.

 

I used a 11 speed quick link on 12 speed chain once because that's all I had with me when my chain broke. And it worked with no issues - however I didn't do a long term test to see the results of that.
So yes it DOES work despite some saying (or just repeating which seems to be the norm here).
