Looking to get a set of wheels built up and they have good prices comparatively to some other places I have been looking like fanatik or coloradocyclist. They are based out of CO Springs it looks like and have a pretty good selection.

This is my first time ordering a custom wheelset, so before I do I was wondering if anyone has used them before and had any feedback? I can't find a whole lot in searching in the forum, or at least the search results get really skewed because of how common "customwheelbuilder" is!

TIA!

Yes, I have. They were great to work with, I ordered White Industry hubs that were delayed from the factory, and Jack (the owner) emailed me right away to let me know. He was quick with responses to questions with alternate selections. They had the build in the mail two days after receiving all the parts and great communication throughout the process. The wheels turned out fantastic. I would order through them again, and offer my recommendation. Just be aware that there are exclusions to their discount, but the last time I looked it was only We Are One rims that they weren’t allowed (by WAO) to discount.

I purchased a set of Nobl TR32's with hydra hubs from them last fall and would highly recommend them. Jack answered my emails promptly (same day) unless it was after hours or a weekend. I've been riding the wheels several days a week for 7 or 8 months with no issues. They had the best pricing and their build time was spot-on. They quoted 30 days and the wheels were sitting on my front porch on Day 30. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

He's the bomb. Builds my FS wheels, and a road wheel set.

Also, Lacemine29. Would of made some mistakes for a recent SS/bike packing wheel set if I didn't use him.

Both will communicate with you in a timely manner and make recommendations. Both have quick turnaround. The reason I go back to Dave for my FS wheels is that he pulled my butt out the fire when I was vacationing in Sedona. They are both great for all applications, but I suspect Dave does a little more road.

Dave has built two sets of wheels for me: Road and mountain.

The road wheels are almost 20 years old, built with White hubs, Velocity rims, and Sapim bladed spokes. They are one of my most favorite things in the world. The MTB wheels are about 6 month old, with Stan's hoops, Project 321 hubs and spokes I can't remember. They too are great.
