Adjustment on Thomson Seatpost

I have a Thomson Elite seatpost which I am trying to get the stated 29 degrees of downward tilt out of, however I can only get to 22 degrees.

The 'bumpstop' on the front of the adjusting mechanism won't let me go any further even though the manual says (and the etchings on the seatpost show) I can do this.

Anyone else had this problem?? Any ideas for a fix??

Cheers

Do you have the top plate inserted the correct way? It has "front" marked on it. How steep is your seat tube? Ideally you should have the saddle more or less level.

Hi Ronnie

The top plate is the right way. I did try it the other way and the adjustment is even less, as expected :) . The seat tube angle is slacker than most (Maverick Durance) which means I need to be at the upper end of the adjustment range, which I can't seem to do.................
