sadly the seattube is so short on the xl.

Haha I'm stoked the seat tube is so short, I guess it all comes down to personal preference though. How tall are you (or how long are your legs) to not be able to fit that seat tube with say a 200m dropper? I guess SC would probably suggest you try one of the XXL 29ers if you're too tall for the XL 5010?

currently on a v2 xl bronson with 49,5cm seattube and a 160mm revive dropper. 6´1" height with 89cm inside leg. could also use the 185mm version of the revive. was also on a large v2 bronson and 5010 but it looked really strange with so much seatpost showing. i love to ride steep stuff and i am really fine with the xl bronson seattube length, dont need to drop it more.
v3 5010 is really nice. looks like "blue thunder" the helicopter from the movie. badass.

I'm kind of undecided on which size to order. I'm 6'1" with a 30" inseam. I've ridden a large in the past but was leaning towards an XL in the 5010. The fact it has such a short seat tube makes me think I can get away with an XL but I wonder if I'll be giving up too much nimbleness. I'm in the midwest so I mostly dodge trees than roll down techy stuff.

Subscribed. I'm either getting a 5010 or Bronson. Don't think I need a Bronson but not sure 5010 is enough.

Have you ridden both? I've ridden both in the previous version and they were like night and day different. I much preferred the 5010.

Just finished this build today, Medium with Fox 36 at 140mm. I have been on the V2 and N4 so it should be interesting to get on this thing and see how it does. I ended up going with 170mm cranks as that is what I'm running on my medium Nomad.

My 5010 v3

Picked up my 2019 5010 v3 (large) last week en route to Mt Bike Oregon.

Swapped out the guide brakes for the new XT 4piston's (m8020's)
and
tossed on my IBIS 735/King wheel set.

Other than that its your typical S-build.
(but came w/ a 170mm dropper on a large...)

Spent 3 days riding around Oakridge on that little beast.
What a blast.
Id have to say SC may have hit the nail on the head w/ this one.

Just an all around trail smasher.

I'll try and get some more pix up soon.

How tall are you? I'm 5'10" and am happy with my medium N4. Thinking I'd get a medium 5010, too.
