240. The hubs that come with the carbon wheel upgrade from last year. Not sure what’s offered now if different.
If it’s the new EXP driver then that might be the culprit. It has its own very lengthy thread here on Mtbr.

Have you looked into the issues with the 240 hubs? There’s a long thread here. DT Swiss claims to have it sorted. Maybe your hubs after among those affected?

EDIT: I see that it’s been mentioned.
 
Yea, I got the ball rolling with DT Swiss on a repair. I had no clue these had issues. My previous, non-exp 240 was flawless. Light and rolled like no tomorrow. Thanks all for pointing me in that direction.

I was looking for a reason to buy some new wheels but came to my senses since this set is virtually new. Plus there aren't that many options out there with 12x157 and Centerlock that are on the lighter side.

Hopefully the fix is solid, in other words, doesn't recur as mentioned by some in that thread.

Kinda bummed about my bike being down though.
 
Pivot is covering their asses for sure with that verbiage. Can’t blame them. They never intended for that part to be changed. If Cascade made a link for the V1 Switchblade would I buy it? Yes [emoji23]

The bearing fit is inconsequential to the fact that the link has interference with the frame, and may cause damage to the frame...
 
That is incorrect. It doesn’t interfere with the frame. Do you have one or are solely going by Pivots statement?

I saw the report made by our QC and Engineering staff before we updated the FAQ's on our website with the quoted statement listed above.

So, to reiterate, the link doesn't clear the seat tube as stated. We do not recommend it's use, and doing so, will void your warranty.

In the 13 years I've worked here, we have never used such strong language.

Meanwhile we haven't seen a single frame where the link hits the seat tube. Maybe if someone runs some big offset bushings, but then I can guarantee you your tire will hit the seat tube first because the chainstays are on the short side. If someone were to install the lower link backwards there would be clearance issues for sure. Hence it's labeled to indicate front, rear, and up/down. If it's the upper link we are talking about then I'm baffled because that thing has loads of clearance in all our testing. If this clearance issue exists we would love to see so that we can address it, but to date we have seen nothing to indicate that it does.

We aren't going to get into that because there are way too many things that can go wrong with a frame that are entirely unrelated to linkages and out of our control. This is why every single link ships with a tag that the user has to remove to install it that lets them know they should check all clearances and let us know if something seems off before riding. There is a surprising amount of variation in bike frames so we have seem rare cases (talking less than 1% of links) where there's unexpected interference, but the majority of the time it's something that was missed when the link was installed. So in that less than 1% of cases we take a return no questions asked. For the remainder where it's just something that was missed we help people figure out what it is so they can get the link installed properly. There are even times were there's something that actually needs to be warrantied on a frame and we have helped someone identify that so that they can warranty it before even riding the link. We aren't trying to just take people's money and give them parts that don't work. That would be a business model that would eminently fail. If anyone has fitment issues all they have to do is email support@cascadecomponents.bike and they'll get taken care of. Again, we are yet to see a Switchblade link that interferes with the seat tube, but if someone has a case where it does we will get it sorted out.

CC isn’t making anyone install the link. Everyone who is buying the link and installing the link is doing it at their own risk as with any aftermarket component. People are just trying to make the switchblade a better bike bike as we all are aware of its downfalls. It’s a good bike but not great.

What specifically is not great about the Switchblade? What are the downfalls? I'm thinking of buying one.

For me it was that DPX2 shock. I could never get that shock to work the way I wanted. I thought I was a bad shock and had it sent in for warranty, got it back and realized that it was a BAD (terrible) shock. The DPX2 just gets overwhelmed in the chunky stuff, which to me this what this bike is for. Never road the bike with the new Float X but can imagine it be a better ride as I have the 2022 Float X on my pivot trail enduro and its an awesome shock.

The other thing with the switchblade is the headtube angle. For the type of bike with that amount of travel I would have wanted a 65.5 with flip chip to make it a 65. Hell my Trail 429 enduro has a 65.5 in the low setting.

Now this is just my opinion and we all have different riding styles and terrain. A buddy of mine loves his switchblade. But then again he has an angle set to slack out the head tube angle and CC links with a Push 11-6. He's not worried about any warranty issues as he's just wants a bike he loves so he will ride it more often than his other bikes.

The only way to know if you might like the switchblade is to try and demo one. I know these days demos are hard to get and that was my issue is I had the buy the bike blind without trying. Ended up selling it after 7 months of owning it.
