ok - i just got some Nokon Carbon shift-sets. i already took them apart and here is the detailed analysis. no comments on performance or pricing or whatsoever. just the facts:
NOKON-Carbon for MTB-shifting (what you get)
1 CD-Box as packaging
1 Package" Shifting front to cablestop": 29,4g
2x 95cm liner
2x 28,5cm Carbon-outers
1 Package "Shifting over seattube": 15,3g
1x 113cm liner
1x 14,5cm Carbon-outers
1 Package "Shifting rear": 24,2g
1x 130cm liner
1x 51,5cm Carbon-outers
1 Package with different endcaps, frame savers and some carbonsegments
2 shift wires
Total liner: 433cm (in 4 pieces)
Total Carbon-Outers: 123cm (in 4 units)
Total weight of 433cm liner + 123cm Carbon-Outer: 69g
weight liner 113cm: 9,8g...............>100cm liner: 8,7g
.....>433cm liner = 37,7g
.....>123cm Carbon-Outer = 69g- 37,7 = 31,3g.............>100cm Carbon-Outer = 25,4g
I hope everyone could follow my mathematics.....i didn't want to take out all individual segments also because there isn't 100cm in the set anyway....
so all detailed weights:
100cm Nokon Carbon: 34,1g (liner + Carbon-Outer)
100cm Nokon liner: 8,7g
100cm Nokon Carbon-Outer: 25,4g
some thoughts on my parts:
-i like the packaging. nice idea.
-I always thought Nokons get mounted with ongoing liner. this can't be done with the rather short pieces you get in the set.
-if you have continous housings on your bike you will need elongation kits. the total of 95cm Carbon-Outers won't do much on such a bike...
