Any spy shots of this?
here you go. I noticed Nino was shifting with his first finger in front of the bars, yet running a pod shifter...and here's how...to me, going right back to the original design, which for me, is superior to either the v2 or the current pods.

I’m pretty sure Nino was one of the riders that stuck with the original remote (with the V2 rocker) when SRAM was prototyping and eventually introduced T-Type.

It seems like he never got along with the newest pod design.

There were lots of shots with the original T type Pod, when it was first introduced. But then at one of the world cups last year, I forget which, as he was coming across the finish line, straight on from the camera, I could see that little piece sticking out, that looked like the original paddle...but clearly it was a pod mount, as it's much slimmer and doesn't go horizontally across the bars as far. This was about 1/2 way through the season. I like the pods additional ability to rotate, and it's slimmer look, but hated the two distinct button design. I sold it pretty quickly and went back to the old style. This new T type option has been around for 6 months at least. I'm assuming it's coming with the FA sid products for 2025?

Doesn't matter though, I still see several sram riders using the old flat paddle design to this day. I still don't get why they don't offer an exact replica of their mechanical shifter but electronic. That v2 paddle is kind of similar, but not really in it's motions and spacing of paddles.

That’s interesting.

I remember seeing a few of the “bike checks” and seeing the rocker remote and just assuming it was the original.

But now looking back on them, and more closely, you can see that it’s definitely not the original!

Pink Bike listed it as the “SRAM SL EC AXS Controller”.

I'm sure some of the AXS pros will keep using the T type pod as it is now, but this new unreleased version to me is going to be just right. It's pretty tiny, so I'm assuming the same 2032 coin cell fits in the new pod. I'm too lazy to look it up at the moment. I wonder if a matching left side version is coming. One of the main points of the new pod design is you can flip it over to the left side, one pod, either side. But this new version wouldn't work like that at all. So back to a L or R model, or just use the existing shape on the left.

Dammit. No image.

The shifter on the Backcountry site looks like 2 separate buttons, the Jenson is one button, which is the model I have. $170 is too much to want to switch, I'll learn to live with what I have.
There are 2 different POD T Type units, one is cheaper than $170, and that's the one I bought and returned the day they came out at retail.

So as of right now, 4 different "shifter" units, with a 5th option coming soon. It's all confusing at the moment.

There’s something very wrong with mtbr image uploads and attachments at the moment. They sometimes work and sometimes break with no picture.:(

I’ve attached some to other posts that were fine in one web browser but don’t show at all in other web browsers.
I’m very frustrated.

I know for certain this has cost me me many “lol’s”.

It’s bull ****!

Don't forget about the Zirbel. You can mod an AXS controller to stuff in the bars. No need for a blip box.
The SRAM Blips work fine for controlling AXS derailleurs (both standard and Transmission) without a Blip Box. Leap Components make holders in various configurations for this setup.

The biggest issue is the batteries aren't replaceable and I haven't seen enough reports of people using them to get a good idea of expected life. I have been running Blips on two bikes since mid-summer and they are still going strong, though they haven't seen much use since November.

I read somewhere the blips run out of juice in a few months when used as main shifter buttons. They were designed more for occasional alternative positions. But I like the original design so much I'll just use those for now. Then switch to the forthcoming pod later if needed. I do want to try a blip or two underneath by my stem. I ride a lot on hard gravel with my hands down there.

Ergo on the new pod is better but I like the ability to drop into a lower gear on climbs with my index finger so I'll prefer the older rocker paddle version. It's worth the sacrifice to me.

Speaking of if anyone wants to trade their old for my new pod please DM me.
Just checking out this thread now. I tried the new pod and really liked it, so if you're still trying to trade?

Well, I don't think they have any good options and I wasn't happy with any of them...quite disappointing they couldn't do better. I personally wanted some nice feeling push buttons. With some modifications to the old SRAM AXS shifter, I was able to achieve what I'm looking for...ended up with nice tactile feel, as opposed to having to roll your thumb up and down, or whatever awkward motion SRAM intended with the original AXS shifter. Thought I'd share, as it's not too difficult. I simply "made" some buttons by cutting off the ends of a permanent marker (happened to be the perfect shape for what I was looking for); I cut at an angle so that my thumb would contact each button flush/square. Then I glued the buttons on using a dab of shoegoo (glued to very top and bottom of the paddle for the most leverage). Finally, I coated with plasti-dip. I just finished doing another one last night, as I'm building up another bike and I have yet to feel any unmodified shifter I like nearly as well.
