Looks like an excellent set up as is. I don’t know if I’d add more stack, as it seems like the bars are at or above the saddle already. Maybe adjust reach if you feel too stretched out.I have had my Jones for several years. Great all around bike. Does great for all the trails around the SF Bay Area.
The ride quality and the geometry is really interesting, even a bit confusing now that I recently got a standard FS trail bike. Experimenting with shorter reach and taller stack to see if I can get it even more capable on the trails.

I started with shortening the reach and then increased the stack. I have short arms so bringing the bar closer has put me at the edge of an upright position before the front gets too light. This change has made the front feel smoother, minimizing harshness over chunkier terrain which encourages you to ride a bit faster, but then since everything comes through the legs, you can end up going at pace where your legs can't soak up the bumps adequately. Makes you wonder what a little bit of rear travel would do to this bike, other than not making it a Jones?Looks like an excellent set up as is. What’s the bike weigh, by the way?
I do have one if still interested Jones Bike Rohloff Hub - bicycles - by owner - bike saleAnyone know of a medium Diamond/Truss for sale anywhere?
Yes, if still interestedAnyone know of a medium Diamond/Truss for sale anywhere?
MediumDoes anyone have any thoughts on Jones sizing? I am looking at getting a LWB or LWB HD/e frameset and building up a bike. I am 5'8" with a 30" inseam/31.75" PBH. I have fairly short legs and long torso which generally has be choosing between adequate stand over vs adequate cockpit length on most bikes. I would either be a small or medium in the Jones bikes. They don't sell a Small Diamond LWB frameset, only a Medium. They sell the LWB HD/e frameset in a Small. A Small has a 30.5" stand over, and a Medium has a 31.5" stand over. With the steeply sloped top tube and depending on where that stand over measurement is made I may be ok on a Medium. They don't provide geo so its hard to decide.
Hi! What is the effective seat tube length for the latest LWB diamond frame in size large? That is, the length from the center of the BB to the upper end of the seat tube in a straight line. Trying to find out if there are any 27.2 mm droppers that would be tall enough for my long legs.
Also, I wonder how long the head tube for the size large diamond LWB is. Surprised I can't find these numbers anywhere.
I don't have my LWB anymore, so just going from memory I think it was 20" c-t.
And I think (also memory) the head tube was 190mm.
Apologies for the mixed systems, but that's how I measure them!
Thanks! Would be happy if someone else could confirm 19 cm head tube.I don't have my LWB anymore, so just going from memory I think it was 20" c-t.

(not sure why this got posted twice, but I combined my answers here)
I bought a diamond truss many many years ago, I liked the EBB because you could adjust your BB height. Occasionally i would use it for commuting and would adjust it for larger chainrings. In AZ I kept it higher for better pedal clearance, in WA I kept it lower for better flow trail performance.I'm very tempted by the current sale. Been Jones curious for many years. Most of my riding is done on 29+ tires, Krampus, Kona Unit, etc. So I'm sold on the big wheels.
My question is: should I go for the steel diamond frame and build it up, or get the LWB complete?
If I went with the complete, I'd lose the truss fork and EBB. Which is no great loss, IMHO. I don't intend to SS it, the truss fork is fiddly to set up, and I don't want to answer 20 questions from every rando on the trail. The unicrown fork makes it look like any other rigid bike. The complete frame, however, is purportedly lower quality. Thicker tubing, no post-weld heat treat. Should I care? The cost would pretty much be a wash after I swapped the tires and brakes, vs building the frameset up with mostly parts I have on hand.
I guess I'm leaning toward the frameset, just because I can use the parts I want, but I would really like to hear from anyone who has ridden both the LWB frameset and the complete.
Thanks!
Personally, I don't care for the truss fork. My dad has one on his SWB spaceframe and with anything less than a 3" tire that fork is brutally stiff. It is just as precise and light as Jeff says it is, but ouch.I'm very tempted by the current sale. Been Jones curious for many years. Good point about adjusting the BB height. The Jones bikes have a bananas-low BB for east coast chunk, so I would put it at the high position and leave it there.I bought a diamond truss many many years ago, I liked the EBB because you could adjust your BB height. The negative of the truss is it is hard to make a fender work, if that is needed, and it can be hard to get your handlebar lower if that is your thing. That said it is a tough tough fork and so nicely rigid. I do suggest getting the jones bar if you are getting a frame. The bike works best with one of those. I can't speak to the current gen of bikes but I rode my Jones exclusively offroad for over 12 years, and now it is my commuting bike.
If I could get the frameset with the unicrown fork, there would be no question, but they don't have any framesets with the unicrown in stock.Personally, I don't care for the truss fork. That said, I'd still prefer a diamond frame with the EBB and truss over the LWB complete. While offering the Complete at a lower price point is admirable, the quality of the heat treated steel frame is noticeable.
If it makes you feel any better, regardless of my dislike of the truss fork, I just ordered a LWB diamond frame. I've been LWB curious since the "Jones Plus" and the sale is decent, truss fork be damned. If I could get the frameset with the unicrown fork, there would be no question, but they don't have any framesets with the unicrown in stock.
