He should consider using a 450 linear spring or a 425-450 progressive spring depending.

If your buddy puts on a Cascade link I think your linear 450 - 500 lbs coil to try.

You can try the 500 50mm valt (you have the 2.0 inch? version) just to test sag and basic riding feel, but I wouldn't ride it hard for fear of bottom outs coil binding. You definitely should switch to the proper 55- 57 mm stroke (2.25 inch) spring which would require new purchase.
Yes I have the 2in version. Was a bit busy lately so we still haven't installed the 500# spring yet. I think my buddy already received the progressive spring so no need for us to try the 2in on.

Push is absolutely insane. I just put it on and have left it alone, haven't touched any settings on the descend mode since it's been on there. Sublime performance on even the roughest trails and no loss in efficiency.

Only note is the "climb" mode is redundant, bike doesn't need it. I'm just mucking around with it and seeing what else I can make that circuit do.

Never tried an EXT, it is about 200gm lighter if that's a priority.
I ended up ordering both, I'll keep one and sell one. The Push should be here in a few days and the EXT at the end of the month. Once I've spent some time on both of them I'll do a little review type write up.

Need a little guidance. I have a 2019 Yeti 130. Bike is nails. I had a shop replace the Bottom Bracket and it kind of grinds in the top 2 gears and has creaking. I am NOT taking it back the the shop. I am going to buy the tools and do it myself. What is the proper tool needed to remove the BB. I am a bit confused. I would prefer a generic brand off Amazon. Also I was looking at this as a press. Cycle Bearing Press Set Bearing Installation Bicycle Soft Tail Bearing Hub Tool 194031321057 | eBay
Would this work and also would it work for the other pivot bearings? Lastly, any recommendations Bottom Brackets. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I think the bearing press you linked to is more for hubs than BBs. I'm not sure if it has large enough pressing bushes for BB bearings. But maybe it does.
This is the one I bought that is specifically for BBs.
There is a specific Yeti bearing tool for doing the bearings at the top of the rear triangle. I have one but haven't used it yet. The press tool you linked to probably would be useful (along with a small bearing slide hammer) for doing the other bearings on the bike.
With your other issue, you don't say if your running a Sram or Shimano rear derailleur. They get set up slightly differently from each other. If it's Sram there is a new white alignment tool to get the B tension correct. You also need to check your chain is the correct length (too short is a big problem) as it sounds as if your upper jockey wheel on the derailleur is contacting the sprockets when using your two largest sprockets.

Not sure which cranks and bottom bracket you have on your SB130. I run RaceFace Cinch with the 30mm spindle on my SB130. This is what works for me and my setup. IOW, YMMV...

Preferred bottom bracket. These have larger/better bearings than offered by RaceFace. Similar bearing sets also available from Hope and Enduro...

I use the following tools for bearing removal and install...

Removal tool...
or...

Bearing install tool...

Add a little bling while you have it apart if your cranks have a preload adjuster (RaceFace, SRAM, EEWings)...

Hey! i’ve been thinking of getting a new link from cascade, i see a few folks here have them.
I called yeti today and was informed that installation of the link would void the warranty.

Asked why: because the shock (210x55) would be over stroked, it messes with the infinity link and potential induce stressed that the frame was not designed for…and also the rear tire would hit the seat tube. Nice chat though :)

Found it a bit odd that cascade would not say this or have checked in out before selling it?

anyone have any long term experience of running the link?

The link won't change the stroke of the existing shock. It changes the travel and progressivity. Cascade has the link approved for both the standard SB130 (210x52.5, bumps to 135mm) and the SB130LR (210x55, bumps to 139mm). I wouldn't expect Yeti or any mfg to warranty a frame that failed due to the install of an aftermarket part.

Thanks. I emailed cascade and they were pretty cool about it. I think yeti are just being cautious. I theory the link won’t cause any issue. Cascade said they’d emailed yeti regarding testing and warranty issues but yeti have not replied.

I was on an SB6 and looking for something slightly better for climbing. The Hightower was on my list as well as the sb130. I felt the Hightower was too close to the SB6. So far the 130 had been everything I need or could want. The 130 is perfect for my usual rides and the occasional park day.

I was at the bike park yesterday and felt i could have hit some of the larger features with the 130 but was not feeling confident for some reason.

I previously owned SB6 for about 2 years and I Absolutely LOVED that bike going [emoji3486] or [emoji3487]. I've even raced Sea Otter XC Cat 3 on it with Lyrik fork and X2 shock [emoji28]

But my current SB130 LR with 150mm fork and Cascade Link exceed all of my expectations.
I can easily do an all day ride with it and so far I haven't found the limitations of this bike on any of the descends I've done around The Bay Area trails.

Bikes and suspension are just SOOO Good these days [emoji2]
It's definitely a good time to be MTBer !

Happy Shredding !

Has anyone here ordered EXT Storia online? Curious to know what you guys entered on the lower bushing harware (yeti eyelet spacer) and screw diameter part of the form. Was it sent with the hardware installed both the 8x36 and eyelet spacer? Tia

I'm coming off a Hightower LT and an Ibis Ripley AF, now on a medium 130 LR. I'm 5"9'
The bike is fast, and it's probably the best climbing bike I've owned. I find that it really takes a lot of effort to get the front wheel off the ground and to get the bike in the air. Like an absurd amount of effort. Not sure if I just need to get used to the geo, but I'm not sure that I want this as my only bike.
I love my Ripley because it's so playful and flickable, but it doesn't handle fast tech very well. It gets overwhelmed pretty easy. But on the other hand its reeeeally fun to ride on flowy trails. Definitely more of an xc bike. Between the Hightower LT and the SB130 LR, I think the Hightower is a little more playful but not quite as capable. The yeti climbs better and seems like it rides higher in its travel (it may or may not actually ride higher, it feels like it though).

Your front end is pretty low there - what about a couple of spacers if you can get them under ?

im 5 11” on the medium LR and run 20mm under the stem, 30mm rise bars. With a 40mm stem.

Probably just the comparson over the bikes you have came from. Id say its fine - not overly poppy but i find it pretty flickable
