If you like the Rekons, try a Vittoria Agarro. Basically a copy of the Rekon tread, but a better tire in every way (possibly except weight, they're slightly heavier.) They roll just as fast, have more substantial and better-siped knobs, stepped ramps for much improved climbing traction, a tougher and also more supple casing, and much better rubber. Been running one on the rear of my bike for a few hundred miles after going through a couple Rekons, and it's just way better. Seems like it'd be great for the Spur.I was skeptical after a couple rides with the Rekon especially in wet conditions. It certainly doesn't have the grip I'm used to in the wet, but I will learn to deal with that for now because @palehOrse is right, it's just so damn fast with these tires.
Definitely going to spend some time researching replacements when the time comes. I'm already out of my comfort zone by not looking at Minions, now you throw in a different Brand! If you like the Rekons, try a Vittoria Agarro. Wow, Fox 36 is ~400 grams heavier than the SiD/34SC. Almost a pound extra weight? So after hearing many people complain about the new SID Ultimate fork developing bushing play I am seriously considering going with the FOX 34 Step Cast instead.
I am building up a Spur frame in Large.
Thoughts and opinions welcomed...
Also - yes it would appear Jordi is running a Fox 36 on that Spur in the dialed video - cheeky!
Man up and get a Fox 38 because fork flex is satinWow, Fox 36 is ~400 grams heavier than the SiD/34SC. Almost a pound extra weight?
Not sure you need that unless your a Clydesdale? Jordi is not a Clydesdale?
So far I have no complaints with the SID. No bushing play so far. I was very happy with my Pike's over the years, and the SID is not disappointing.
Satin, as in the smooth glossy fabric traditionally made of silk?Man up and get a Fox 38 because fork flex is satin![]()
Thanks! She's very photogenic.Palehorse, nice pics. Where are you located?
Just placed an order a week ago. You should call Transition. Last time I checked the website they were talking 5 months, but I like others have put a deposit down and are in a queue. If people pull out the deposit before confirmation of delivery by your dealer, or Transition themselves you might get a bike sooner than later. I think this bike is so popular and Transition is a smaller company, it's balls to the walls trying to fill orders. And who knows if they have all the components required to make complete kits. We'll see. I'm prepared to get a bike the middle of winter.Does know of a large xo1 available?
can you post a pic of the invisiframe on it? I'm debating on putting the matte finish wrap on mine![]()
Large frame arrived recently and just invisiframed last night. Done quite a lot now and the nicest fitting kit I've done - went on like a dream.
Will be building up shortly as follows:
Full XX1 AXS
SID 35mm Ultimate
G2 Ultimate
Reverb AXS
Deity BSG
Roval Control SLs
Works 1.5 Angleset
Bit of a delay on the SIDs but have a spare pike ultimate I'll drop down to 120/130 in the meantime.
Booked on at Dyfi (Athertons) bike park next weekend on the big bike so might chuck some spare enduro wheels in, and take it along for a few shakedown laps [emoji38]

I'm pretty sure the Spur shown in the Bikes Edge video was custom built from the frame, I don't think it ever had a Sid on it.There have been two recent reviews of the Spur on youtube that had issues with bushing play in the SID Ultimate fork.
See the Jeff Brines long-term review at 0:55
Also see the BikersEdge short-travel 29er showdown.
At first, I was puzzled why the Spur in the BikersEdge showdown had a Fox fork. Buy in the comments, they say they returned the SID to RockShox for repair. I don't know why they didn't mention this in the video itself.
Both reviews loved the suspension (and the bike) but it does look like RockShox has some kinks to work out.
These kind of first-release issues seem to happen more frequently than they should in the MTB industry. It's annoying and why I'm leery of buying the first release of new bikes or components.
