I like to do a majority of my own maintenance and I'm looking for a service manual for my 2016 Trance 27.5 2 that includes all torque specs. I have searched around but cannot find anything for the 2016. Anyone know where I might find this?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Rich

I believe it's the same specs as 2015 model as nothing changed other then suspension on those models. I have the 2015 trance 2 and other then colour and fox suspension upgraded from ctd to fit4. It's the exact same bike other then the dropper post as well. Frame, links, drive train, breaks, wheels, all the same.

I'd love to have this too! I have the same bike.
c'mon guys that's the third time now I'm posting the same fu**ing manual in this thread. It's the same spec for all 27.5 trance frames.

Instead of clinging to a 2005 manual out of desperation maybe use the search function for once in a while when looking for something? (no cheap excuses - it does work on a mobile too!)

In his defense, the link posted a while back never worked for me either.

The link worked at the time of the posting and it works right now but maybe Dropbox is imposing a download limit on my files that I'm not aware of

BTW the document provided can equally be found by using Google, I'm using no magic tricks here to aquire such information, just trying to help...

edit:
I googled for the document again, here's the original file:
https://www.google.at/url?sa=t&sour..._cz/bikes/models/manual/MY14%20GIANT%20Off-Road%20Bicycles%20Service%20Info.pdf
direct linking to the file doesn't always seem to work, don't know why...

Regarding the new Trance update: Bikes seem to be getting bigger across all brands. Lots of emphasis on LONG and LOW. I think what this will do is just force many into a frame size smaller than what they typically did before. Giant already sizes on the large side, and they just got larger.

Maybe, maybe not. The new stock stem looks like a 60mm to me (don't take my word for it - I'm blindsight!) and would therefore already compensate for the 10mm longer reach if you had been on a Trance with the 70mm stock stem before.

The question is rather does the slightly wider stock bar width of 2017 justify downsizing? I think most people here would rather shorten the stem another 10mm before downsize to a smaller frame.

For a longer legged person like me the new L frame is probably too long now as I already ride 50mm stem/780mm bars on a 2015 Trance while the Medium frame will be too low.

Coming from my Santa Cruz, Giant seems to size kinda big even on the gen 1 of the Trance 27.5. My Santa Cruz fit me like a glove and it looks like the M Trance was closer to the L 5010.
Of course, Santa Cruz has since updated the 5010 Geo and made the bike longer as well (20 in TT to 20.4 for Larges).I am reading on the 5010 thread that some people are moving down a size.

That's a nice comparison chart. Thanks!

It's true many manufactures have added an inch or so of wheel base to their bikes these last 2 years. At first they were shortening the rear and stretching the front, but keeping the same WB. Of the few I've got to ride, the new bikes still go around corners faster than the old ones do, despite the WB growth. The new geo (long and low) is being adopted because it lets us go faster AND feel more confident over the chunk. It's like the wide bars, at first 750mm wide felt awkward then I realized how much more control they offer.

I am swapping my large Trance frame for a Med. I should have gotten a medium in the first place but glad I found someone looking for a large. If I were getting a gen 2 Trance I would definitely go medium.
Comments like yours might actually be very useful for others but you conveniently didn't mention your body measurements (both Body height + inseam required!)

I'm 180cm/88cm inseam and the medium Trance Adv1 frame, even with the 70mm stock stem was too short for me, riding uphill is a good method to find out as this is the riding position where you'll feel cramped if the frame is too small
