Let's see some pics and testimonials specs of your rigs, people. Getting mine tomorrow. Will put in my $.02 when I get some mileage in.

Just recently purchased a 2015 XTC Advanced 29er 2 that was on sale. I wanted something for some long distance on road/off-road biking, a bit of Xc, some commuting etc

I have a setup that I like my bikes to feel and ride and have preferred components. So I stripped most parts off the bike and built it up like so:

Rockshox Reba 110mm forks
SRAM x0 1x10 with x9 cranks and direct mount 32t chainring
Shimano slx brakes 180/160mm rotors
740mm low rise bar, 70mm stem
Ks lev dropper post, wtb seat

I'm still running the stock wheels and tires.

Went for my 1st ride today and bike fit feels great. Bike climbed great, decending was a different story. I don't think Im used to such a twitchy bike. Whilst the 110mm fork had slackened the bike by .5 degree to 71 degrees the bike still felt way too twitchy. But I did get used to this feeling (sort of).
I'm pretty disappointed by the wheels and tires, 19mm rims imo is way too narrow and the Racing Ralph's I might as well be riding slicks. The trail I rode this morning was a combination of wet rocks and wet hardpack. The tires were sketchy as, coupled with the head degree angle, it was a scarey ride. The bike felt great on the road though...

I did consider the 27.5 version but I really wanted a 29er Carbon hardtail and the Xtc was way cheaper than the competition. I was a bit concerned with the geometry though.

This bike is still a bit of a work in progress for me, I have ordered a works 1 degree headset that will slacken the bike to 70 degree while steepen the seat to 73. I think this is ideally the geo I would want.

I will also be adding a Carbon 740mm bar, 36t chainring, praxxis 11-40t cassette and would like to replace that wheelset to something much lighter the Stans crest and get some way better tires.

Below is a photo of how the bike looks today, you will also see I got rid of those orange bits to give it a more stealth look.

With those additional upgrades I will get back to you guys with how it rides.

Bike weight is 24.75lbs

A few more photos, I got rid of the stealth look and now have the 36T front chainring and 11-40T cassette. I also put on a 60mm stem and that has improved the handling of the bike. I am still waiting for the 1 degree headset.

I don't seem to see many of this model around, certainly not on here

Ok so some more changes to my xtc. I just installed a Works 1 degree headset, so that with the 110mm Reba fork gives me a 70 degree head angle and 73 seat angle. I haven't taken the bike for a decent ride yet but a quick ride up and down the road it its feeling great.

Over the next couple days I am hoping to install a Stans Crest Wheelset with Maxxis ardent tires and a SRAM 1x11 GX/X1 groupset

2014 XTC Composite 29ER 2

2014 Giant XTC 2 Composite
upgrades:

- Raceface 32T Narrow Wide Chainring
- 3T 80mm Carbon Stem
- Raceface Next Carbon 700mm Bars

I've had this for almost 2 years and just love it. I just changed it up a little for this year. I will also add a dropper shortly, and maybe upgrade the wheel set if the budget permits.

I managed to get a pair of Easton EC90XCs. They had some use last season but are in overall awesome shape and the price was very good. I paired them up with new Maxxis Ikon 29x2.35 3C EXO and used Stan's tubeless sealant. Quite a noticeable difference.

Need Some Help Determining What I Got Here....

ISO some details on this frame for those who may be in the know. Sorry for the poor photo quality.

Year?
Seat Post Clamp Size?

I just just picked this up and was told it was a 2014 frame although I can't seem to locate this color scheme anywhere online to confirm exactly what year it is. I also need a new seat clamp as it's a bit longer than a traditional clamp.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

It's a carbon frame, and I'm the first owner.

The pic with the 2 bottom bracket shows a new one (the upper). The one below is the bb which came out of the frame. Where you see the aluminum piece attached to it.
This aluminum piece is normally pressed/glued inte the frame, and should never come apart, I assume.
