Was looking for a FS 29er and was a little surprised to see that Bikes Direct only had 29 in a hardtail. Does anyone know if there is an ETA on an FS 29er?

Your guess is as good as anyone's. They were on here a while back seeking feedback for potential build kits for a FS 29er.

I'd say that your best bet is to email them directly. Friends have found them to be very responsive.

Just get the nicest full suspension Wally World bike and add better components. VOILA!

Yes, I kid. HaHa

Would you really WANT a full suspension from Bikes Direct??? At there prices it makes more sense to buy their highest end hardtail, buy an FS frame from a good company and strip the Motobecane or whatever to build up the full suspension.

I don't think it's as easy to design a good 29er full suspension bike since there are limitation to the amount of travel you can put on a 29er. 29ers have their own set of unique issues when it comes to design, they probably wouldn't want to rush out just any 29er full suspension frame or they're almost certainly going to run into problems.

Eventually as 29er tech matures I'm sure we as consumers will be able to find a better and more reasonably priced selection of bikes on the market.

As for carbon frames, I have my reservations buying that ebay stuff until I know for sure they're as good as they claim. It's one thing to be light weight, it's another to be light weight stiff and durable.

i was lucky enough to find a 2008 Voodoo canzo 29er on ebay and picked it up for like 900. it was a complet bike and from looking around the bike it is the best entry level fs 29er on a budget. it will be my first 29er so i am exited to get it and put it togather
